But Jackie is the one who pulled the stunt on Eck a couple of years ago. Eck is obviously considered fair game in the clubhouse and Farrell has done nothing but enable it.

Agree with those comments. Just for clarification, Price's opt-out comes after the 2018 season.

They've scored 53 runs in the last 17 games. The craziest part is that this came after scoring 53 runs in 6 games.

I agree it doesn't make much sense for Eck to be on the same plane with these guys.

Vaz's OPS since June 1 is .431. OBP .219, SLG .212.

According to Shaughnessy, and the article on this incident seems to be one of his better efforts, there has been disgruntlement about Eck in the Red Sox clubhouse for several years. Let's also not overlook the report of Sox players applauding Price on the plane. I'm mainly just pointing out that this isn't all about Price acting like a lone nut. He may have been doing this with a lot of support.

I'm pretty sure DD would have been happy to sign Encarnacion but JH wouldn't authorize it because of the luxury tax issues.

Not to be a downer, but I'm not all that excited about leading the division. We're on a 6-10 run and we could be in third place by the weekend. Not that I'm expecting that, but it's the nature of the baseball season. Also the Yankees are about due for a turnaround.

There was a report from somebody that Price's beef was with Eck saying 'Yuck' when he heard the numbers from E-Rod's rehab outing.

I don't know if it's a panic move or not. What's a panic move? We're in first place in our division, great, but we're not really playing all that well. And every game counts in the final standings.

He's got 16 errors in 72 games at 3B this year. That's a lot of errors any way you look at it.
