  1. He's been discussed a lot on the Prospects thread.
  2. It's all technicalities. In this case the Wild Card games are technically playoff games. MLB recognizes them as such, Baseball-Reference recognizes them as such.
  3. Calling a game a 'playin' game instead of a 'playoff' game is just semantics. The reality is the same in either case. You win, you move on, you lose, you go home.
  4. Used to be, used to be...once upon a time there was only the World Series. What's changed is changed.
  5. How about the first round of the NFL playoffs, the Wild Card round - are those playoff games?
  6. We have no more off-days till September 7, so yeah, it'll probably be Fister. At least he won't be pitching against Cleveland.
  7. I still remember Gregg Zaun (covers Jays games and postseason games on Canadian sports network) talking about Middlebrooks having 'alligator arms' on that play.
  8. I was just being a joker. The sunglasses will be my 'being a joker' sign from now on.
  9. What I'm saying is you seem to want it both ways. You complain about DD setting us up for a cliff, then you complain about him not making a bigger effort to trade even more prospects and make the cliff even worse.
  10. Playin, playoff, what's the difference.
  11. You're expressing all this concern about the cliff, but at the same time asking why we didn't try to trade Groome, Chavis and others for Gray.
  12. You are churlish.
  13. Relax and enjoy the ride, that's what I say.
  14. I contest this statement. For example, I am 100% certain that porcupine-quill underwear is a non-starter.
  15. Couch-potato analytics...I love it.
  16. He was being aggressive because there were 2 outs and he represented the winning run not the tying run.
  17. You're 100% correct about the 1978 playoff game being part of the regular season. You're 100% wrong about the Wild Card games. They are playoff games.
  18. Yeah baby. Take that, Cliff.
  19. Charlie Finley would like this post. But look up Herb Washington. Suffice to say the idea didn't work very well.
  20. Just so we're clear, the WC games are in fact playoff games.
  21. Joseph Heller would appreciate a Catch-22 like this one.
  22. Delayed, if anything.
  23. I don't think he was exactly being overlooked.
