  1. 4 years isn't a small sample size because it's 648 games.
  2. It's questionable whether the signings of Victorino, Napoli, Drew, Gomes and Dempster were 'brilliant', although they certainly worked out well in 2013 - not so much after that. The signing of Koji was a great move, but Ben also had misses on Bailey, Hanrahan and Melancon. Ben was a total mixed bag - some good, some bad.
  3. Fangraphs had all 3 of the Yankee prospects in their 2017 top 100. What 3 did we have left that were comparable?
  4. There must be some nights when the air is specially charged in a way that's conducive to baseballs getting smoked.
  5. Holy s***, I went to bed thinking we had lost 10-9 in crushing fashion. I was following the bottom of the 9th on Gameday and when it showed Moreland with a swinging strike 3 I turned off the computer. Unbelievable.
  6. Holt in for Benintendi again.
  7. I was joking about Holt and Swihart of course. Where did you get the information that DD didn't make any inquiries?
  8. Certainly not if you have forearms like Garvey.
  9. Holt...too funny. You and 700hitter can put together a package with Holt and Swihart as centerpieces. How about some prospect rankings numbers?
  10. That's my question too.
  11. Swihart is barely a prospect anymore. If someone can put together a package of our prospects that would be roughly equivalent to the Yankees package, then we can have a discussion. The injuries to 2 of the Yankee guys obviously muddies the waters, but I'm sure someone objective like harmony could do this.
  12. There's a difference between panic move and necessary move. A lot of crap happens that forces moves that weren't in the original plan. IMHO.
  13. What's the point if you know you don't have the prospect pieces or you know one of the pieces is Devers? I guess it was also criminal negligence by Cashman not inquiring about Sale.
  14. Yes, I'm afraid it might be the dreaded Napoleon complex. About 2 grand worth of visits to a shrink should clear that up for you.
  15. Good one.
  16. I'm starting to think you are one of those shortophobes.
  17. Henry forgave those charge backs as thanks for the wonderful variety of specialty coffees Ben introduced to the Sox brass. (A joke strictly for you.)
  18. Well thank God he didn't trade Devers.
  19. Queer is to be celebrated now, man. Did you not have your rainbow flag out during Pride Week?
  20. Larry you are quite the DD fan LOL
  21. Workman on a leash.
  22. The reverse lock was on with Fister. Everyone was expecting him to get hammered, so he pitches like an ace.
  23. Holy crap, Devers, what a way to start his Red Sox career.
  24. That's what happens when you trade a pile of prospects like DD did already...they're not an endless supply.
