  1. A combination of a guy with serious heat and bad visibility because of the late afternoon shadows I think.
  2. Like you said, $17 million a year or thereabouts for 5 years or thereabouts is just too much for a closer.
  3. There's virtually no chance they re-sign Kimbrel.
  4. Those three can all play about 70% of the time if that's what Farrell wants to do, using them in the best platoon/matchup situations.
  5. So could anybody be in a 3 for 30 stretch.
  6. As disappointing as Mookie's current numbers are, if he gets hot he can still end up with another excellent season.
  7. I'd rather they do it this afternoon.
  8. I hear what you're saying. I don't think anyone fully understands what causes all the hot and cold streak stuff. My attitude is that managers get paid to make these decisions, and on a major league ballclub I assume they are getting a lot of statistical and anecdotal input that we don't necessarily have.
  9. You said a guy with a .966 OPS in August should be riding the bench. I thought that was wrong so I pointed it out.
  10. Just not my thing.
  11. The only explanation I can see is that they're giving Holt a full opportunity to turn it around after being out so long. If he keeps floundering they really do have to cut him loose fairly soon.
  12. Personally I just let Farrell figure it out...there will be some mixing and matching obviously.
  13. Moreland has a .966 OPS in August. He shouldn't be riding the bench. Back to the drawing board with you.
  14. It is enigmatic how he's been owning us lately.
  15. 2-0. Plus Betances ended up getting him out.
  16. Just about any move a baseball GM makes, other than the really minor ones, involves the risk of failure.
  17. Did you see our brilliant discussion on Herb Washington?
  18. Bradley 9 Nunez 1 Betts 2 If Bradley and Nunez make outs Mookie does not come to the plate.
  19. He did have a clutch hit off Robertson last night that didn't pay off, unfortunately. We have a number of guys who are underperforming so you can't pin it all on one guy.
  20. What also got kind of buried in this story is that, for better or worse, there appear to be some genuine hard feelings toward Eckersley in the Sox clubhouse going back a few years, as documented by the picture with JBJ thing.
  21. I like conundrums as well.
