Exactly. The guy is trying to come back from concussion/vertigo symptoms that some thought might be career ending. I also think Dombrowski has some input in this.
One thing that should be pointed out - 2 of those were back-to-back games where Holt subbed for Beni. It was after that that Beni went on a tear. Shouldn't Farrell get some credit for what appears to have been an excellent move giving him a couple of days off?
Replay saved us from getting screwed out of a run last night (Mookie's steal before Hanley's HR). And it wasn't an egregiously bad call. I'm just glad the rule is there.
All excited about Arrieta now, are we? If he gets a big contract he probably won't live up to it either. They usually don't. Price at least seemed like a decent bet durability-wise.
The tiny sample size I'm referring to, of course, is his 94 plate appearances for the year (89 before yesterday). Normally that would be tiny for you, but I guess if you don't like the player all that stuff goes out the window.
That's certainly true. On the other hand refusing to giving out bigger contracts limits the pool of players available to you. It's all a somewhat tricky game IMHO.
