  1. Exactly. The guy is trying to come back from concussion/vertigo symptoms that some thought might be career ending. I also think Dombrowski has some input in this.
  2. You totally skipped past the point I was trying to make because of your Holt obsession.
  3. One thing that should be pointed out - 2 of those were back-to-back games where Holt subbed for Beni. It was after that that Beni went on a tear. Shouldn't Farrell get some credit for what appears to have been an excellent move giving him a couple of days off?
  4. I see what you did there.
  5. I'll go you one better - even if Farrell does get canned, we'll be reading the same sort of stuff again next year, just with a new name attached.
  6. Holt has been playing too much lately, I agree with that part. I just don't think it's reason to crucify Farrell.
  7. Thanks oldtimer, always enjoy reading these posts.
  8. Replay saved us from getting screwed out of a run last night (Mookie's steal before Hanley's HR). And it wasn't an egregiously bad call. I'm just glad the rule is there.
  9. All excited about Arrieta now, are we? If he gets a big contract he probably won't live up to it either. They usually don't. Price at least seemed like a decent bet durability-wise.
  10. Covered by the 'etc.'.
  11. oldtimer is questioning a particular move, not calling him an idiot, moron, should be locked up etc...little different.
  12. What ever happened to the old reasonable moon? He seems to have morphed into seabeachfred somewhere along the line.
  13. Holt actually has a higher career OBP than Nunez.
  14. Exactly, it's a playoff playin...that keeps everybody happy.
  15. The tiny sample size I'm referring to, of course, is his 94 plate appearances for the year (89 before yesterday). Normally that would be tiny for you, but I guess if you don't like the player all that stuff goes out the window.
  16. Exactimundo. Porcello is 3rd in the AL in innings pitched so he reduces the bullpen burden.
  17. That's certainly true. On the other hand refusing to giving out bigger contracts limits the pool of players available to you. It's all a somewhat tricky game IMHO.
  18. And as we all know, you're never one to judge a player on tiny sample sizes.
  19. Nice to see us rough up one of Cashman's genius acquisitions Tommy Kahnle in this series.
  20. Great job winning 2 of 3 with the one loss on Sale's start!
  21. The beauty with JBJ is you pencil him in every day because of his defense and take the offense when it comes.
