  1. The kid is gonna be a big star.
  2. Just one more year and we'll be free!
  3. He also had 14 total bases, compared to 9 for Mookie and 9 for JD.
  4. I thought you were a big believer in pitching depth. Plus Wright's knee seems just a tad iffy.
  5. Still not much. But Johnson has some value as a spot starter/long reliever guy, which is something every team needs-including us.
  6. It's impossible to top. It was the dream season.
  7. Yeah, my only thought is that Pearce probably appreciates getting the truck a lot more than Price would.
  8. The idiot factor is huge on those sports radio talk shows.
  9. Ease up there Ted. Theo is an excellent GM. No need trying to trash him to make Dave look better. They can both be excellent.
  10. I like Kimbrel a lot. But his tenure with us was perfect. We won the ring, he was OK at best in the postseason, didn't blow any saves, but demonstrated pretty conclusively that there's no need to spend big to bring him back.
  11. Might be a good comp Station. Hill's deal was 3/48.
  12. Dombrowski hit a grand slam this year. Cora JDM Eovaldi Pearce
  13. And losing brings out other dickheads.
  14. Well, one thing is clear, we need to keep Nunez from reaching that PA bonus LOL So what about Eovaldi and the need for a RH starter. Does DD make him a serious offer? If not Eovaldi what other RH starter might he target?
  15. Thanks MADCOW. You proved all year that you really know your stuff.
  16. No, we leave the flexible predictions to Jacko.
  17. Seconded. And a special note of appreciation to iortiz and the Aztec Gods.
  18. The Astros weren't that banged up. They were rolling coming into the postseason and they annihilated Cleveland.
  19. I think we made the Dodgers look bad more so than they WERE bad. We didn't beat them much worse than we beat the Astros (marginally), and going into the playoffs the Astros were considered to be a very tough opponent.
  20. The DH/no DH thing has been in place since 1973 - 46 years. Have you always felt this strongly about it?
  21. Man are you harsh. The NL actually had the upper hand in interleague play this year 158-142.
  22. Depends on how 'small' and 'meaningful' are defined. David Price pitched 26 innings in the postseason. That's about 15% of his regular season total of 176. If his 26 postseason innings were pitched at a level of 8 fWAR, that would be an additional fWAR of about 1.2, or 9 million dollars of value.
  23. Fair enough - I removed the word technically.
  24. I'll do no such thing.
  25. Which raises a question - why doesn't FanGraphs also figure out some sort of WAR for the postseason?
