  1. It's reasonable. I just don't think there's room in the budget.
  2. SPLINTER Incredibly Prescient Stat Post Mojo!
  3. Agreed. In Cora I trust.
  4. Personally I'm not skeptical about anything Cora does.
  5. Who d-money? He rarely misses a game.
  6. Brasier would have to be incredibly weak mentally to melt down that completely and that fast because of a single error behind him.
  7. Because nothing's that simple, that's why. You can find countless examples of one-out errors that didn't lead to runs. And you can find countless examples of two-out, nobody on rallies. The Win Probability thing is the most reliable measurement here because it factors in all those countless other games.
  8. That's actually a line from Dan Jenkins' classic football novel, Semi-Tough, that I've never forgotten: 'What could have happened, did happen.'
  9. According to the Win Probability thing, the Red Sox chances of winning dropped from 89% to 79% after Devers' error.
  10. Cheer up guys. Shaw is off to a sucky start this year.
  11. Good luck with our home-grown starting pitchers!
  12. I think Cora would be doing so if our bench wasn't so depleted right now. I'm not sure who the replacement would be.
  13. The really bad news, Tyler, is that you now have to switch to Jean Claude Van Damme movies.
  14. And at some point they probably will. But I think they're doing a heck of a job assembling a workable bullpen so far.
  15. And pair him up with Aaron Bummer.
  16. No, I think it's the price tag and the concerns about declining stuff.
  17. Just this once I'm going to veer off to another sport, only because this one was so good. In the PGA 2 man team event a couple of weeks ago, one of the teams was J. B. Holmes and Bubba Watson.
  18. Rougned Odor...there's a position player.
  19. Brian Looney...yet another pitcher...4.2 innings for the Red Sox in 1995...not very successfully.
  20. Jimmy Gobble (a very unfortunate surname, that)...and another pitcher.
  21. I'm laughing just picturing it and hearing him say that.
  22. It's absolutely stunning that Michael Caine would agree to appear in such a film.
  23. You are the Official Thornburg Voice of Reason.
