  1. The extension is looking good after last night!
  2. Chris Freakin' Sale is back, I daresay. Hard to ask for much better news than that.
  3. I don't think what you said was that Moreland has the most trade value, exactly...
  4. I don't mind being called that.
  5. We have a decent bullpen at little cost. Looks to me like DD deserves some credit.
  6. Yes, but what we're talking about is the crop of free agent relievers that were available.
  7. I think some teams would be interested in a left handed power bat and a decent first baseman for $2 mill. The only way we trade him is if we're out of it.
  8. Here are some of the quality relievers a lot of us figured were on the Sox radar this offseason with ERA and WHIP: Joe Kelly 10.13 1.95 Cody Allen 6.00 1.89 David Robertson 5.40 2.10 Andrew Miller 5.11 1.62 That's a whole heap of quality there...
  9. It's easy to say after the fact who the 'quality relievers' are. It's not so easy to predict who they're going to be in the offseason.
  10. I don't think it's even a slight possibility. DD must like him, to sign him twice.
  11. Wouldn't that be nice.
  12. Agreed. Glad we didn't re-sign Kelly though. One can only imagine the posts about that. MADSTORK would be in his glory.
  13. Also, 1978 ended with the Yankees winning their second World Series in a row, to push the knife in as deeply as possible.
  14. We'll see how it works out this year, I guess.
  15. Well, we did have an animals category, but we forgot to have one for animals on the dinner table.
  16. Cora, being the good manager that he is, dropped Chavis to the 7 spot last night to take a little pressure off.
  17. Yeah, you don't have to convince me. 1978 was the worst for me as a Sox fan. It nearly killed me.
  18. It may already be happening, I'm afraid. He's hitless in his last 3 games.
  19. They re-traded for Boomer when his best years were behind him, though. He had one good season in his second go-round and then he was done. The Lee-Papi traded was incredibly stupid in its own right, that's for sure.
  20. Trading away Cooper was much worse than Lee for Papi.
  21. Bastahds. Thought we picked up a game on you last night but no.
  22. Looking at his record, it appears that maybe he got burned out by overuse. He pitched a crazy number of innings for a reliever. But after 4 seasons of heavy innings he fell off the cliff.
  23. Did you miss his last start?
