In theory it could work. But if both catchers are really good, they'll expect to be paid like they're really good and they'll want 'starter money'.
It'd be a catcher controversy waiting to happen.
Good in theory, problematic in practice.
What did people envision back when Vazquez and Swihart came up together? One of them had to go at some point, right? The best case scenario was that one of them got traded for something good.
Getting back on his game now, good for him and for us.
I'd happily sign him to a 3 year 45 million extension or something similar.
But I'm afraid there aren't enough slices left in the pie for that.
Leon supporters like myself don't expect anything like that. The idea is just that the more comfortable and confident the pitcher is with the guy beyond the plate, the better their CHANCES.
When did I say his defense wasn't part of my argument? All I'm saying is that his offense isn't that bad. s***** is a bad word. He's slightly below average and that's it.
With all the bitching about JBJ, he's ended up with an OPS higher than .700 the last 4 seasons in a row.
Right now the average MLB center fielder has an OPS of .687.
The trade JBJ gang needs to calm the f*** down. It's gonna be OK.
