He has value because of the laws of supply and demand. The Dodgers and the Angels need a starting pitcher and they have lots of money, and Price is now the best one available. Bloom is just waiting them out.

Yes but with the Ryu signing, Price is now arguably the best available starting pitcher, so that works in the Sox favor.

John Henry obviously thinks the tax will continue to exist in the next CBA, and I'd say he's in a pretty good position to know about that.

That's assuming paying Price's full salary, which no one has suggested.

It's the Jays. Even if David pitched 6 good innings, we'd still have a shot against the Jays pen. We have much bigger things to be concerned about.
