  1. I'm just assuming the Front Office knew what they were doing tendering him a contract. They could always wait for another team to really need a decent center fielder.
  2. Under the circumstances that seems fine, I guess.
  3. And yet the trade simulator has him at +2 million.
  4. Well, the Red Sox are giving us the Phantom Offseason.
  5. Not many pitchers don't.
  6. Good post Nick. Merry Freakin' Christmas everyone.
  7. If they were as desperate as you make out, it's kind of funny nothing has happened yet. Now you can revert back to 'Bloom is indecisive' mode.
  8. Ted, you need to grab a new attitude for 2020. This back and forth with Jax is just cluttering up baseball threads with trash. Jax has been cleared by the mods long ago. Deal with it.
  9. Must be an amazing gravy day for the cops.
  10. You had to be there, I guess.
  11. He has value because of the laws of supply and demand. The Dodgers and the Angels need a starting pitcher and they have lots of money, and Price is now the best one available. Bloom is just waiting them out.
  12. Sounds about right.
  13. Yes but with the Ryu signing, Price is now arguably the best available starting pitcher, so that works in the Sox favor.
  14. What else is new though. Signings tend to be optimistically biased.
  15. It was a joke. Google Rich Hill.
  16. Hill's last contract was 3/48. You have a solid point there. If Hill could get that much Price should be worth about 3/60.
  17. Simulator is overruled.
  18. MLBTR suggests the Sox would get stuck paying 35-40% of his salary.
  19. I see no need to trade Mookie. Trade Price & JBJ.
  20. Only if one thinks it should all be done in one transaction.
  21. John Henry obviously thinks the tax will continue to exist in the next CBA, and I'd say he's in a pretty good position to know about that.
  22. The only thing the Sox have to include in a trade for Price is money.
  23. That's assuming paying Price's full salary, which no one has suggested.
  24. It's the Jays. Even if David pitched 6 good innings, we'd still have a shot against the Jays pen. We have much bigger things to be concerned about.
