  1. Haha...my baseball exploits are like that too.
  2. And personally I'd rather not see Chris Sale do anything that enhances his chances of getting hurt.
  3. Oh yeah, I played in those games too. But as soon as you got to Little League, things were a lot different.
  4. In theory this might mean suspending every single Astro hitter who came to the plate in 2017. It would be a ludicrous outcome.
  5. Did you not have baseball games as a kid where there were more than eighteen kids and you'd have to make substitutions? Or pitchers who had to come out because their arms were sore?
  6. Very few people actually enjoy watching pitchers 'hit'. Pitchers are at an obvious disadvantage because of their limited usage. The NL leader in innings pitched, Strasburg, only came to the plate 80 times in 2019. Pitchers ARE specialists. The game isn't pure. There are pinch hitters, pinch runners, relief pitchers, defensive replacements.
  7. Bauer said this too? Because LoMo said the same thing.
  8. And do we really think there are any teams who would never have used the easily accessible video to study signs during a game?
  9. What if the investigation is still going on next week. They don't want to install Roenicke and then have to un-install him.
  10. What about this scenario: Hitters watch video during the game and think they have decoded sign sequences. They spread the info around the dugout. When somebody gets on second base, they signal the hitter. Cheating or not cheating?
  11. Mendoza has a job with the Mets now. That's the reason she might be out, isn't it?
  12. With regard to JDM's professions of innocence, it seems strange that if the Sox did nothing the investigation is so long.
  13. Agreed. A lot of the time they're showing the idiots in the booth. A-Rod probably has it written into his contract that his pretty face has to be on-screen for X number of minutes.
  14. https://weei.radio.com/blogs/rob-bradford/mike-lowell-would-manage-if-it-meant-bridge-to-cora
  15. Lowell actually said he would take the job, but only for one year as a fill-in for Cora.
  16. The Mets had every right to keep Beltran as manager, he wasn't disciplined by MLB, but he was outed as a cheater and liar, so he was dead in the water as a manager.
  17. If he's healthy he's definitely worth a look.
  18. No chance. He's all over Manfred's official report. The only reason he isn't suspended yet is they're waiting till the Red Sox investigation is over.
  19. When asked if he expected Mookie Betts to be on the Red Sox Opening Day roster, Bloom said, 'That's really been my expectation all along'. But he went on to say that he wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't open to anything that would improve the team's chances over the next decade. So it was a nicely balanced answer.
  20. They're obviously doing this to appease some of their customers, which is understandable. But they might be opening Pandora's Box, especially if more teams get outed for cheating.
  21. Plus Sam Kennedy just acknowledged that ticket sales are down. Even without all that, the chances of trading Devers were less than zero.
  22. Well, the pen was pretty right-centric last year. That's all I got. I wouldn't even have known all these new guys were lefties until you pointed it out.
  23. They can likely only do one.
