  1. A 2 challenge system is a heck of a lot better than nothing. And successful challenges don't reduce your number, so you could actually challenge 5 times or whatever as long as you're right. Teams can be expected to save their challenges for higher leverage situations. I think this is what we'll end up getting as a permanent system.
  2. There's at least one question attached to almost every single Red Sox position player. Wong-defense Casas-health, defense Bregman-where's he playing Grissom-does he make team Campbell-does he make team Story-health, offense Devers-where's he playing Duran-does he regress as projected Rafaela-offense Abreu-can he hit lefties Anthony-does he make team Yoshida-does he fit at all
  3. Chris Berman used it for the NFL. I thought it was humorous.
  4. Might not, too.
  5. I know you live in the Norris Division zone, so I guess I'll take your word for that LOL
  6. I would agree that the second option is not so bad.
  7. IMHO we should not be counting on Bregman opting out. If he was strictly interested in the biggest payday, he had 171.5 million reasons to sign with Detroit. And he'll be another year older after 2025.
  8. Maybe Rafaela can beat the paradigm.
  9. All good points. Cora will figure it out, but I have no idea how. The fact that Devers is reportedly still having some shoulder issues could certainly play into it.
  10. I actually think Bregman would like to stick around. I mean, he turned down 171.5 mill from the Tigers.
  11. Not a single walk in his last 39 games and 142 PA's. I just don't see how he can continue like that. It's never been done.
  12. Little Raffy obviously has tremendous "bat to ball" skills. It's his approach that he has to alter...somehow.
  13. Little Raffy's K/BB ratio of 10 to 1 is one that no player has ever sustained. It's twice as bad as the career marks of Will Middlebrooks and Bobby Dalbec. He has to find a way to improve that, or he'll be primarily a late inning defensive replacement.
  14. mvp was being facetious. It was about the ARod/Jeter thing.
  15. Well played. The thing about Jeter was, he kind of magically concealed his deficiencies at SS. You don't really remember any nasty misplays he made at critical moments.
  16. And that inning (notes Captain Obvious) was all about the defensive lapses.
  17. Do you think stuff like the Devers/Bregman controversy was ever "off grounds", though?
  18. "If it bleeds, it leads." Very, very old expression. Goes back to the late 19th century.
  19. It's impossible to say if they would have won any more than 5. If you really want to go down that rabbit hole you'd have to show which years it would have made a difference. It's freakin' impossible, man.
