  1. And you're just being annoying because you can't help it and you're in reality not a contributor but a troll who's been banned from here a couple of times already.
  2. That call could probably be automated too.
  3. Yeah, you got me, it's 2% below average. Close enough for most people. And the 2.0 bWAR is right around average.
  4. He was dead on average, with a 98 ERA+ and a 2.0 bWAR. And he pitched a lot of innings by today's standards. That has value. This isn't really controversial.
  5. An innings-eater like Crawford was last year is always valuable. It's the Tim Wakefield/Rick Porcello role. Some of Crawford's numbers were very good. A 1.12 WHIP. 15 Quality Starts. He had 6 starts where he gave up either 5 or 6 ER, which obviously kicks the crap out of the old ERA.
  6. There are a bunch of moving parts. In theory both Campbell and Grissom have a shot at being opening day 2B, for one thing. If neither of them impresses enough, it could make sense for Bregman to be opening day 2B, which means Devers at 3B. So it's a little soon to be telling any of these guys where they're playing.
  7. Not sure how much it matters, but seniority typically refers to amount of time with the organization, no?
  8. It was diagnosed as inflammation and no structural damage. What kind of surgery?
  9. Right, you're explaining it well.
  10. You know he's amped.
  11. This loss is on Cora, for taking Bregman out of the game and using Fogell! 🙃
  12. I was actually responding to notin's comments about benching Rafaela.
  13. Total speculation on my part and maybe a reach. It's just that all the expectations seem to have been placed on Anthony and Campbell for the moment.
  14. Absolutely. Maybe he will benefit from having a little less of the spotlight on him this year. "Provided he stays healthy" adds Cap'n Obvious.
  15. Mainly due to the injuries I would think.
  16. A reasonable trade proposal for Skenes would be... a contradiction in terms.
  17. Case in point: Per Andrew Parker on X Red Sox minor league injury news: Pitcher Matt Duffy has a full tear of his UCL and will undergo Tommy John surgery on March 5th. 2024 draft pick Cole Tolbert also has a UCL tear and will be having Tommy John surgery the same day.
  18. I think you're gonna have to explain why this is.
  19. I too have expressed reservations about Little Raf's O, but you also have the fact he had a 2.8 bWAR in his rookie season, 4th best for Sox position players. A little early to give up on him?
  20. I think the idea of the full robo system is that there would be no challenges, because every call would be automated. The ump would get a signal in his earpiece indicating ball or strike and would simply relay it.
  21. Another good article, Maddie. I have to confess to being a dissenter about the value of all the new technology and analytics. Because I'm not convinced it's making the game better. First you have the obvious fact that we've seen a huge increase in strikeouts and decrease in balls in play. The average BA in 2024 was .243. Second is the injuries, especially to pitchers of course. The 2024 World Champs had 3 healthy starters in the World Series: Yamamoto, who made 18 starts in the regular season, Buehler, who made 16, and Flaherty, who was a trade deadline pickup. Max effort/max velocity/max spin = max injuries.
  22. I'd be fine with totally automated calls. But I wholeheartedly disagree that this isn't a step in the right direction.
  23. Some of those answers were silly!
