  1. He put up 4-5 bWAR seasons in 2022-2024. This is not what we usually see for "pillow contracts". If he posts a 4.5 bWAR this year, is that going to radically change the demand for his services from what it was this offseason? The free agent market has been super-weird the last two years, some guys getting paid as expected and others left scrambling.
  2. One possible scenario: Hamilton is Opening Day starter at 2B. If Mayer performs bigly in Worcester for a while he gets promoted and becomes starting 2B, Hamilton becomes bench option.
  3. Personally I think Bregman would like to stay and the opt-outs are there for protection against things going sour in some way. I'll note these points again: 1) The deferrals knock his contract down from $120 mill to $95 mill, an AAV of $31.7 mill. 2) He turned down 6/$171.5 mill from the Tigers.
  4. His 2 hits in spring games are both singles. His lack of EBH power seems pretty glaring.
  5. Not bad. I actually think my favorite jokes are harmless ones.
  6. There's "middle infielder" now.
  7. Just asking for offensive jokes.
  8. Casas seems more like the slow starter/strong finisher type to me.
  9. It is, but how are they supposed to evaluate both Campbell and Grissom at 2B, exactly? I was going to say before the spring games started that split-squad games would be ideal for this Sox roster.
  10. It's no wonder message boards like this are sausage factories.
  11. Nobody. We just haven't heard that he has, the way we have with Wong. Mainly it's just something to jabber about.
  12. It is, but they're also giving Grissom a look. Cora is juggling a lot of stuff. I think he's pretty capable at that.
  13. I hate to take the Nelly perspective, but I hope the sudden increase in velocity doesn't lead to arm problems.
  14. If Casas isn't interested in working hard on his D, that would lend credence to the mutterings out there that the team isn't thrilled with him.
  15. Because he's in the running for both positions now or in the future, I'd say.
  16. In his last 27 games Raffy hit 172/265/212 for a 478 OPS, with 1 HR and 6 RBI. That's a whole new level of being affected by aches and pains.
  17. I still think our number one question mark health-wise is Devers and his shoulders.
  18. Vegas has our over/under at 86.5. Take the over and make a killing! 😉
  19. We've heard a lot about all the work Wong did on his defense this offseason. I wonder if they talked to Casas about improving his D.
  20. Not playing him in any road games seems like a dicey strategy.
  21. I'll just go with abbreviation.
  22. Griss better get something going soon. 13 trips to the plate and one single thus far. SSSS, I know, but if anybody needs to show they can hit a little it's him.
