Lucroy is literally the most valuable trade chip for a rebuilding club in baseball right now. The cost would be extraordinary to upgrade a position we don't need to upgrade. I'd much rather they go after Jimmy Nelson.
They're just platitudes. It's the typical manager "defending his pitcher" and pitcher "being overly hard on himself" BS.

This is a good point. A lot of people are fixated on getting guys for the top of the rotation, when that's clearly not the problem. Give the team a chance to win on nights Price/Wright/Porcello don't start and we're in business.
This team has the mark of a bad team right now, eerily similar to the 2015 edition of the Red Sox: Don't pitch when they hit, don't hit on the rare occasion they pitch.
