  1. As soon as Lester stopped overthrowing that friggin' cutter, he started getting much better results.
  2. More plausible than Jacoby Ellsbury being the second best CF in baseball, but i digress.
  3. Do you know what the "ceiling" of a prospect is? I'd like to read the answer of that question before i make any effort to look for anything.
  4. Yeah, it happens. Teams slump during the course of a 162-game season, especially when you face several elite pitchers in a short amount of time. "Failure to not hit good pitching" can't be a concern, because that's why it's good pitching. Failure to consistently hit decent pitching like Tillman is a whole other matter.
  5. Who hits good pitching consistently? That's why it's good pitching.

  7. ^This. Had it coming though, and it was better not lo let it devolve into pictures of bat dicks and crushed skulls. He'll be back soon anyway.
  8. This is flat out fallacy. He was great last year, then got injured. The problem is that pitchers adjusted to him and he didn't manage to make adjustments as well.
  9. Well, yeah, I suppose it doesn't look as bad average-wise given how high it was after his hot start. I still want him on the team for sure though personally, he's just too valuable in the field and unless this hitting as of late is what we can come to expect, it may not be too much of a hindrance. I've seen a lot of people that don't think he's part of our future. I disagree.
  10. I'd be thrilled with giving Brian Wilson a shot, but I'm probably being a homer as far as that goes because I'm a huge fan of his. I can see us getting Peavy from the White Sox and I do think Bogaerts will be called up before the end of August. I like Iglesias a lot but I think he falls back down to earth, albeit slightly above what a lot of people expected he'd be batting.
  11. Owens is the one with the higher upside according to current reports, followed by Barnes and the Webster. Then again, prospects are fickle, and it's pretty much a crapshoot. However, there's no denying that their stuff is top notch. Stuff doesn't always translate to success though, and he mental aspect of the game is a roadblock many prospects with elite talent fail to clear.
  12. That's because you're pretty much insane YOTN.
  13. Not all women are the same. If she's telling you what she likes, you gotta play into it.
  14. Well i'm not denying it, but if they want it missionary what else can ya do?
  15. There are a lot of teams selling this year though.
  16. Actually, in mother Russia, shirt wears you.
  17. Boston Red Sox (61-43) Jacoby Ellsbury, CF Shane Victorino, RF Dustin Pedroia, 2B David Ortiz, DH Mike Napoli, 1B Mike Carp, LF Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C Stephen Drew, SS Jose Iglesias, 3B Starting Pitcher -- Ryan Dempster Baltimore Orioles (58-46) Nate McLouth, LF Manny Machado, 3B Nick Markakis, RF Adam Jones, CF Chris Davis, 1B Matt Wieters, C J.J. Hardy, SS Henry Urrutia, DH Brian Roberts, 2B Starting Pitcher -- Scott Feldman Sorry VA, game's about to start! Nice to see a lefty-stacked lineup against Feldman, who has been noticeably weaker against LHH in his career. Actually wrong on that, since over has career he's been better against lefties.
  18. http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/3845.png&w=350&h=254 Vs WIN!
  19. Someone had to take the plunge..... Proper game introduction coming next.
  20. Fred, where do you get the idea that no one in the farm system projects as any more than a #3? Because several scouting reports have Owens, Barnes and Webster with #1 or #2 ceilings. I would like to see where you got this information.
  21. He's a FA after next year though. I am incorrect, he's under control until 2015.
  22. Apparently the Cubs are listening in on Samardzija. Thoughts?
  23. Some of them are current, as close as June. Remember that scouts usually write up these 20-80 scale ratings based on what they see from players personally over a SSS. Maybe they just think that overall Bogaerts has both better tools and a similar approach. I'm not a scout, so i can't explain the exact thought process.
  24. That's a question for him. I have no idea.
