  1. Isn't that what life is all about though? Arguing on message boards and fantasizing about Kate Upton's and Katy Perry's rack.
  2. But they also won't alter their perception of a player's value based on two games at the MLB level, which is what i was getting at. Workman's value is what it is.
  3. Then you'd have him right at the verge of going back to being awesome by October. If he can't come back by mid-September at the least then he's useless either way. By that same token, do we have any reason to have any confidence whatsoever in Peavy? He's essentially another Buchholz health-wise but not as good.
  4. I don't think a couple decent starts at the MLB level will inflate his value as much as you think. If we can come to this conclusion, why can't MLB scouts and GM's?
  5. Why does everyone wanna trade Workman?
  6. So if Buchholz comes back he's not a very solid #1? When healthy (and that when should be bolded and in 24 size lettering) Buchholz pitches like an ace. If he's healthy come crunch time, i like the Sox' chances against any of those guys with Buch on the mound. Not to mention Lackey has actually outpitched three of the pitchers you mention above.
  7. Never mellow, just quietly badass. Like Albert Pujols when he was good.
  8. Oh yeah, that's another thing. Stop projecting your problems with SR unto me.
  9. a700, when a lot of people have a problem with you, usually you're the problem. I don't want to be going on an eternal back-and-forth with you. I keep trying to avoid confrontation with you, but you just keep poking and/or entering conversations with others and adding fuel to the fire. Seriously, let's give it a rest and focus on baseball.
  10. That's because you do. Most of those achievements came while he was on the NL (Padres to boot). He hasn't been nearly as durable or as effective in the AL save for one season. On a side note, Crain's injured and won't be ready before the TDL, so that likely takes him out of the list of Red Sox options.
  11. I don't think he was taking a potshot at me Mike. He was talking about "in general", and he's partly right.
  12. Pedroia is the better career hitter (not even close in the OPS department), has been the better and most consistent defender (not just per UZR, but most other advanced fielding metrics), more durable (this isn't even a question) and the face of the Red Sox franchise along with Papi. Not only is he better, he's a lot better, and he means a lot more to the team. He was also willing to negotiate in-season and not try to squeeze every last dollar out of the Sox, unlike Ellsbury and his agent.
  13. By the way, this is another one of those instances where you add fuel to the fire of a non-existent argument with the mere object of calling attention to yourself and your victim act. I thought i politely asked you to stop last night? For the sake of maintaining a good standing and ugly arguments to a minimum, how about if you do?
  14. You call people names and use personal attacks all the time. Not always because of "being harassed". Sometimes under the banner of "friendly banter" and others sticking your nose in other's disagreements. If someone here doesn't have the moral standing to call anyone out on anything, that's you. How about that for context?
  15. We get it. You like guys who play for the Royals, but Santana probably isn't realistic for the Sox.
  16. This isn't a Bruce Lee movie, so very seldom does this happen. But there are obvious social repercussions to exhibiting some of the behavior people usually demonstrate on the internet. If you want the breeding grounds for internet *******ry, go to the comments section on a popular youtube video. It makes talksox look like nap time at the daycare in comparison.
  17. Not necessarily. For some this is an outlet. For others things come out a lot worse than they mean them too. Some take everything on the internet and light-hearted and think everything is just fun even if it's insulting to others. Someone's internet persona doesn't always reflects their real-life counterpart.
  18. We're all guilty at one point or the other. But i disagree in the idea that the majority of people are *******s. People behave way worse on the internet real life because the lack of face-to-face interaction thins out the need for social etiquette.
  19. On this site? You mean everywhere right? Welcome to the internet.
  20. Well i did say border, and "ridiculous" is a hell of a lot less abrasive than say "dickwad" or "asshat".
  21. Yet you're the one who just made a thread whining about the money that's being paid to the franchise's best player? You're ridiculous. Also, your love affair with Ellsbury borders on the insane.
  22. Every possible offensive, defensive, and value-based stats proposes Pedroia as a superior player to Ellsbury for their careers. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Even this season, in which Pedroia has played entirely with a torn tendon in his thumb, he's been only 0.2 wins less valuable than Ellsbury, who's in a contract drive. Please be objective.
  23. The chances of this happening are close to zero. And your Ellsbury homerism certainly invalidates any and all credibility you may have. 2nd best behind Trout? Get a clue.
  24. No offense, but i don't quite think you understand how baseball economics work. What happens with Cano would definitely have impacted what happened with Pedroia had he not signed an extension right now. It is the main reason why the Sox chose to work out the extension now, per insider sources. Also, it borders on the ridiculous to complain about Pedroia's extension then pine for an extension for Ellsbury (even if it's 5 years) since Ellsbury is an inferior player to Pedroia, and obviously much less durable. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth here.
