  1. Aaaaaaand that's why they called Vasquez back up.
  2. What the f*** is Porcello doing?
  3. Not going to manhandle the Jays throwing nothing but fastballs.
  4. Goddamn Hanley is hustlin'.
  5. The Sox own Dickey hard. .758 career OPS against him with 9 homers.
  6. BigPapiEnFuego, the second fat guy to dissapoint Red Sox Nation in April.
  7. I'd rather have the nicknames that lack imagination thank you very much.
  8. I started typing that, then you made me sad. Jonathan Imabum.
  9. Also, Papel blows.
  10. Swihart is not a finished product defensively. No "obscure stat" needed to debunk anything.
  11. For better or worse, and even though a big part of the blame goes towards the top of the FO who you can be sure were the catalysts for the Panda deal, a lot of the blame for this roster being a clusterf*** goes to Ben. Rusney and the Lester/Lackey trades fall square on his shoulders as GM. Like with Pablo, stop making excuses for him.
  12. No, Pablo handled the situation very poorly by not following FO directives and showing up looking like a blimp, then sulking like a little bitch about playing time. Stop making excuses for him.
  13. He could be Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson big, but an act of violence is an act of violence, and there's no justification for it. Shame on you.
  14. They blew it, full stop. They could have gotten Abreu had they really wanted to. The screw-up was in the evaluation for both players.
  15. Rivera didn't flip no switch. Papelboner's hands were clearly around Harper's throat for all to see. Stick to verifiable facts please.
  16. How does it give them just 15 days? That's not how the DL works. They have as long as it takes (and Panda is willing to stay down) to get his ass into playing shape.
  17. They had signed big ticket Cuba guys before (Iglesias). There was a bidding war for Castillo, whose skills many thought would translate immediately to MLB. Not every move is a "panic move" or has a dumb underlying decision. Some moves just don't work out.
  18. Hey, the hwy is named after him, so the mystique is there. He also kept his mouth shut and didn't choke out any teammates. Papelblows.
  19. The new blood will provide us with the W.
  20. Stranger things have happened. Jeff Weaver was a 4.58 ERA, 96 ERA+ pitcher by the time the Cardinals acquired him. Doesn't scream "top of the rotation" to me. Neither does "86 MPH" Suppan, Jason Marquis or Anthony Reyes. Offensively, this team will have no issue. They have firepower. "It's the pitching, stupid" as the famous phrase goes. My only point is that the 2006 Cards (who honestly had poor starting pitching, that's not debatable) are proof that sometimes wonky s*** happens during the playoffs.
  21. David Ortiz is no slouch. The Sox have a great foundation. They just have crappy starting pitching. Edmonds was injured most of the year and Rolen was not the Rolen of 2004 anymore. But their main parallel? A true ace (Carpenter and Price) and various stages of suck/mediocrity for the rest of their rotation. Jeff Weaver and Jeff Suppan, anyone?
  22. 2006 Saint Louis Cardinals. It happens.
