  1. Since Ortiz hit 2hr's against the twins on 5/14, he's hitting 183/298/325 in 141 PA's
  2. The sox have Lackey and Lester going in this series, so 2 out 3 should be within reach. Need some momentum going into the west coast swing (7 games vs A's and M's).
  3. I don't think I've seen anyone say the Bradley is going to be a star, what he will be is a gold glove cf and get on base at around a .350 clip and that my sir is around worth around 4-4.5 war. last 10 games his obp is 368. His future with the Red Sox is far from murky. war= wins above replacement obp= on base percentage And just curious who the future includes? everybody knows Bogaerts sorry ass can't hit with risp(runners in score position), Bradley can't hit a fastball or breaking ball, Webster and RDLR are Dodger castoffs, Buchholz is a big baby, WMB can't hit or field(this one might be accurate).
  4. So let me get this straight, the Red Sox are struggling this year because of Bradley? Not because Gomes, Sizemore, and Nava have been terrible at the plate and even worse in the field. What about Peavy, Buchholz, and Doubront being amongst the worst starting pitchers in the league this year. Or what about Pedroia, his ops has declined that last 3 years. David Ortiz ops has dropped from .959 in 2013 to .836 in 2014. But you want to blame the number 9 hitter who is a rookie providing gold glove caliber defense in cf? WTF
  5. game has just resumed.
  6. Are you suggesting that Ortiz and Pedroia are getting pitched around?
  7. and just for shits and giggles the the red sox number 3 hitter last 25 games 234/312/319 for a 631 ops. for all the bashing that JBJ receives the struggles of the offense are far from his fault.
  8. last 25 games player 1 163/291/279 for an ops of .570 player 2 188/230/261 for an ops of .491 Hint: one is the Red sox cleanup hitter and other one is the #9 hitter
  9. While the results weren't there tonight for Rubby with the 4 er, the swing and miss "stuff" is front of the rotation potential. Hopefully the results will reflect the "stuff" his next start.
  10. Webster lost confidence in his sinker last year and was leaning on his 4 seamer way too much. I find him as the most polarizing pitcher on the Pawtucket squad and when it comes to pure "stuff" no one in the org compares, but will he ever harness it? who knows.
  11. agree to disagree, both have huge stuff but control issues.
  12. The only problem with signing drew will be if Farrell does not platoon him.
  13. I was hoping it was going to be Webster, he has the highest ceiling of any of the pitchers in Pawtucket with 2 plus pitches(fastball, changeup) and average to plus slider. PS I think he was pissed about not being called up, tonight's line 8.0ip 3h 1er 7k 1 bb
  14. Betts is ridiculous, 3/4 tonight with a bomb.
  15. Mookie update went 2/7 today with a hr, sitting at 418/455/658
  16. I've seen this on a couple of boards, and just curious why? I mean Swihart projects to be an impact player at a premium position. Swihart has plus bat speed, plus defensive skills, #4 catcher on most prospect rankings. Vasquez has fringe bad speed, struggles blocking balls, but has an elite arm. I would take Swihart, and it's not even close.
  17. Scott Lauber ‏@scottlauber 3 min. A few days ago, Lester and Lackey pulled aside Allen Webster for a video session that led to mechanical changes. 3 scoreless innings today Webster probably has the best "stuff" in the org, if he learns some control his ceiling is a front of the rotation starter.
  18. His daughter has DiGeorge syndrome, which is a chromosome issue. Very serious.
  19. I posted today's BA chat referencing the red sox farm in Minor league forum if anyone's interested.
  20. here's a link for todays BA chat ref the red sox farm. http://www.baseballamerica.com/chat/?1387205875
  21. yes sir. With a extremely deep draft it's possible the Sox would have practically 3 late 1st round draft picks.
  22. pretty sure.
  23. I think that the MFY's 1st round pick is loss for Mccann comp pick(Cano) is loss for Ellsbury comp pick(Granderson) is loss for Beltran They keep there 2nd round pick as of now
  24. It was just an example of what the Sox should look at it if they were intent on moving WMB, most the players mentioned obviously would need more than WMB. And I think any of those players could be moved with the right package.
  25. If Ben moves WMB, it has to improve the club. What are some areas of concern now and in the future? It appears the most likely position that could be improved now is Lf, so I would say WMB would have to be part of a Package that would get Stanton or Cargo. If you look down at the minors, the sox are lacking mostly at frontline SP's(thinking Walker or Bradley), 1B and Of(along the lines of Adams,Belt, Yelich, Tavares). Remember the Sox are potentialy losing 3 sp's with Lester, Peavy, and Demptser FA's.
