  1. Red Sox Stats ‏@redsoxstats 2h Speculation but it seems to be shaping up along the lines of: Dempster traded for salary relief, Sox re-sign Drew, WMB to MIA for Nicolino. Take it as whats its worth.
  2. The tools are there, hopefully he will be healthy, probaly start in the bottom of the order, and plus im an optimist.
  3. not that this is relevant, but I could see Cecchini in LF come opening day 2015.
  4. I know this wasn't for me, but i wanted to answer it anyway. 270/325/550 I think his health issues are behind him, plus he's been in Boston working out with the Red Sox training staff.
  5. tell me that when there is a man on 3rd with less than 2 outs.
  6. That's considerabley higher than I thought, good call. The number that sticks out to me is the 59 k's with risp.
  7. Napoli rejected a QO, is he mercenary? I'm a huge WMB fan, but I'm even more a Red Sox fan. So if the Sox deal WMB and it betters the team, I'm all for it.
  8. I met Mike Greenwell when I was 13 in 86 spring training, so that should give you an idea of my age. The whole point about Napoli is do you think his production and monetary demands are more valuable to the sox than Hart potential production and what boils down to late first round pick. I can see the arguement from both sides.
  9. 1) The dig wasn't meant for you, it's just that i've seen it said in couple of forums. The fact is if you don't produce the fans and the media are going to get on you. 2) Napoli did have 92 rbi's this year, but the 3 batters in front of him had over .350 obp. It's almost embarrassing he didn't have considerable more. 3) Yes, Napoli had some good games against the Yankees. What did he do against the Rays? 4) In reference to who I would wanted to play 1b? I would have been fine with Carp getting the majority AB's, maybe try to pry Adams or Belt away. There were tons of options. When it comes down to it, i'll be pulling for Napoli and hope he has an excellent season. In Ben I trust.
  10. Hate beat a dead horse, but Hart signs a 1 year contract similar to Napoli's contract last year, 5 million with ability to collect 13 million with incentives. Just a reminder, next years draft is very deep. Hart played 0 games in 2013.
  11. Hate beat a dead horse, but Hart signs a 1 year contract similar to Napoli's contract last year, 5 million with ability to collect 13 million with incentives. Just a reminder, next years draft is very deep.
  12. 3 of our starting pitchers our free agents next year. None of our pitchers in the minors project to be front of the rotation guys. In reference to the "Trumbo trade" it wasn't the 2 LHP the angels received, it was the value they recieved. If Ben could get a young front of the rotation starter with WMB, I'm all for it. For the Sox to sign Drew it has to make sense, having WMB sitting on the bench does not make sense.
  13. My point is that if the sox resign Drew, were would WMB get his ab's. We already know that Farell will not platoon Drew and XB will play everyday. How is WMB supposed to get his value up if he is only playing a couple of games a week? And I thought the trade for Trumbo yesterday was a major get for the angels, what I meant was that if Trumbo could get 2 young lefty pitchers, what would WMB fetch?
  14. I'm all for signing Drew to a 1 yr contract with an option for a 2nd year(1 year contract doesnt make sense when a draft pick is involved). I would think that WMB trade would be in the works though, and just for comparison sakes I would think that WMB has more value than Trumbo and look what Angels recieved for him.
  15. I think that we can agree that it's not a likely scenario.
  16. So Wmb would play 1 or 2 a week? While signing Drew and keeping WMB is possible, it doesn't make sense. We already know that Farrel will not platoon Drew, and XB needs to get as many AB's as possible.
  17. I can understand that. But he has a career 310 babip and His 367 this year was a career high. I can see a situation where His k rate hovers aroung 35%, babip hovers around 310 and his iso dips below 200. Which now the Six have a sub .800 ops 1B, but don't worry he's a clubhouse guy that can handle playing in Boston.(That dig wasn't met for you)
  18. pretty accurate, except I think by the All Star break Napoli is a straight platoon player. Once the BABIP regresses it going to get ugly.
  19. If the season started today, the red sox bench would consist of Gomes, Ross, Carp, and utility free agent. I'm assuming that Carp would be moved if the sox signed another OF.
  20. Nick Cafardo ‏@nickcafardo 11s Matt Kemp is in play for the Red Sox and the Dodgers would eat some money in the right deal. Just a question of whether the Red Sox want to
  21. I really don't see Ben signing anyone with a draft pick attached to them, including the Sox's own free agents. Next years June draft is incredibly deep.
  22. CF Victorino/JBJ 2b Pedroia RF Stanton/JBJ DH Ortiz LF Kemp/Nava 1B Santana/Nava SS XB C AJ/Ross 3b WMB Trade Ranaudo,B Johnson,Ramos for Kemp + 30 million Trade Cecchini,Owens,RDLR,Betts,Brentz for Stanton Trade Doubront,Carp for Santana I can dream!!!!!!
  23. wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being Sabathia Kuroda Nova Tanaka Phelps
  24. I knew Ellsbury was leaving, but I prayed every night "please don't let it be the MFY's"
  25. per jon heyman, ellsbury is signing a 7 year contract with the MFY's.
