  1. I see Lester different than Sellsbury and Damon, He wants to be in Boston and eventually they will work something out.
  2. Arods salary is on the books next year, I doubt they go big next year
  3. he doesn't have the arm from deep in the hole.
  4. Pedroia took a good risk there, Ellsbury probably has the worst cf arm since Damon. Bad luck.
  5. It's pretty exciting with Betts being called up, by sept 1, it's probable that the sox have 5 rookie's in the everyday lineup (XB,JBJ,Vasquez,Cecchini,Holt) and 3-4 pitchers in the rotation(Workman,RDLR,Webster,Ranuado). The future is bright.
  6. a bright spot today is Webster gave up 2 er in 7.2ip and struckout 9 with no walks, his era on the season is 2.92
  7. Holt has suprised me with his OF play, outside a few mishaps in Seattle he's done well.
  8. no way any cf gets to that ball from where JBJ was positioned.
  9. could you imagine if the sox brought up another rookie, some people's head would explode on this site.
  10. He hasn't adjusted yet.
  11. he's 21, he'll be fine.
  12. I was just pointing out that he has been really impressive this year. The team has been terrible, but no reason not to point out some bright spots.
  13. Looking at some of Andrew Miller's stats, 14.52 k/9 (4th in Mlb), and a FIP of 1.45 (3rd in Mlb), he's having an incredible year.
  14. The Drew signing while in hindsight looks bad, at the time of WMB injury the sox had nobody to play 3b and the only thing drew cost was money so it seemed like an obvious choice. I don't blame Ben for signing him, I mean Drew went from a top 5 offensive SS that should have won the AL gold glove to a Red Sox fans punch line. I would imagine at some point after the trade deadline that he will heat up and the Sox will put him on waivers. In reference to the future of Red Sox left side, XB is probably the 3b of the future anyways as Cecchini has not take a positive step this year and WMB hasn't taken a positive step since 2012. I wouldn't be surprised if Marrero is the opening day SS in 2015.
  15. Betts is playing RF tonight for Pawtucket.
  16. Bernie Williams line his rookie year 238/336/350 and was below average cf that year and through out most of his career. Most rookies struggle, it's part of being a rookie.
  17. since 6/1 as a staff the sox have 3.54 era, 5th in the American league. This season is a tough pill to swallow, but winning it all last year makes it a little easier.
  18. since 6/1 B Holt 330/370/426 D Pedroia 250/309/381 D Ortiz 222/315/432 M Napoli 310/375/552 D Nava 341/420/409 AJP 158/194/211 XB 152/200/291 S Drew 143/182/190 JBJ 200/294/250 Outside of Nava, Holt, and Napoli, the offensive production has been terrible.
  19. This is all JBJ's and Drew's fault, oops Drew hasn't played today.
  20. It looks like Nava has worked out his kinks, since 6/4 350/435/425 in 46 PA's.
  21. Who is having or had a career year? just curious cause I've seen this posted in other forums also, the only one that comes to mind is Nava.
  22. I'm usually a pretty positive outcome kind of guy(especially for a red sox fan), but I just don't see it happening this year. Best case scenario Drew, Peavy, Doubront, AJ, and Gomes play well up to the non-waiver deadline and are moved for some decent pieces. Bring up some kids and see what you have prior going into the offseason.
