You have to like where we are right now, and our odds of sneaking into the playoffs.
- The Yankees can't string hits together (a problem that won't be totally fixed when Judge comes back)
- The Blue Jays can't hit right handed pitching consistently.
- The Astros are no longer the offensive or pitching force they used to be. Still very good on both sides, but not as elite as we're used to.
- We still have 7 with the Yankees, 6 with the Blue Jays and 6 with the Astros.
We're 50-44, with the next 6 games against mediocre teams (with another 9 game stretch in early August against KC, DET, WAS).
If Chaim doesn't buy at the deadline, somebody needs to show him the door. But, don't give up Mayer, Rafaela, or any other top prospect. We only need a few small ripples, not a big splash.
