  1. Yale and Quinnipiac regularly roast UConn in hockey, although that has changed a little bit since UConn went to Hockey East
  2. When you grow up in Connecticut and go to the state's flagship university, you also prefer March Madness to the NBA playoffs
  3. I think they will beat Clemson. Beating both Duke and USC would be impressive. I expect them to lose one. Hopefully the weather in South Bend does not cooperate the night USC comes to town, which of course would favor the Irish. I have been far more fascinated by college football instead of the NFL thus far. Not that it matters. Just an observation
  4. I am super excited for college football this year. I am a UConn season ticket holder for the first time, and after not being able to watch much college football for the last two years due to the demands of my now former profession, I am excited to be able to sit back and enjoy it this year.
  5. Only 1-8 against the Sox…
  6. We just need to stay within range of Seattle. Their last 9 games of the season are exclusively against Texas and Houston. If we are 2 games or fewer behind at the start of that stretch, I like our chances
  7. Most likely the last game I go to this year, sadly
  8. If anybody wonders why we won today, it’s because I was there. 8-0 on the season for me!!
  9. We're winning the next 6 and going into Yankee Stadium back in the WC race. Book it
  10. Just your infrequent reminder that there are no such things as ugly wins. Only ugly people.
  11. I will be at Yankee Stadium next Saturday with a friend, and then I am going to one of the games in the Astros series at the end of the month. Unfortunately, I will be out of town when the Dodgers are here. I will actually be in Baltimore and plan on going to Camden Yards while I am there.
  12. I was at the game tonight with my nephew. We’re now 7-0 this year when I attend. Maybe if I go to every game we have left, we might be able to sneak into the playoffs
  13. I'm going to the game on Wednesday, so the losing streak will definitely stop by then.
  14. I was at that July 7 game. Won't be there tonight unfortunately.
  15. My best friend is a diehard Yankees fan, more of a Yankees fan than I am a Sox fan. I told him this at some point on Sunday. If you are the Yankees and you finish behind the Red Sox in the standings, or even worse, miss out on the playoffs to the Red Sox, you have no choice but to fire Cashman and Boone. Look at the talent on the Red Sox roster on paper before the season, and look at the Yankees. The Red Sox have had just as many, if not more, key injuries than the Yankees. There's no excuse for the Yankees finishing last
  16. Haven't said this in a few years... Win Dance Repeat
  17. I meant in the playoffs
  18. Raul Ibanez and Hideki Matsui carried them in 2009
  19. This team has me so excited right now!! Great chance to go 5-1 (or better) this week
  20. You have to like where we are right now, and our odds of sneaking into the playoffs. - The Yankees can't string hits together (a problem that won't be totally fixed when Judge comes back) - The Blue Jays can't hit right handed pitching consistently. - The Astros are no longer the offensive or pitching force they used to be. Still very good on both sides, but not as elite as we're used to. - We still have 7 with the Yankees, 6 with the Blue Jays and 6 with the Astros. We're 50-44, with the next 6 games against mediocre teams (with another 9 game stretch in early August against KC, DET, WAS). If Chaim doesn't buy at the deadline, somebody needs to show him the door. But, don't give up Mayer, Rafaela, or any other top prospect. We only need a few small ripples, not a big splash.
  21. Today's game is more of an indictment of how bad the A's are than anything else
  22. I believe he's just an opener. Somebody correct me if I am wrong
  23. This is exactly what a real baseball fan should sound like. At the end of the day, he is your manager. He gets paid to make the decisions. We don't. We don't have to agree with the decision, but at the end of the day, you respect the position and defer to his judgment. Well said, moon.
