  1. I hope you’re joking. That’s not where the name comes from
  2. It’s been underwater for most of the last 2 weeks from two separate flooding events
  3. Pretty hefty wind blowing straight out today. A far cry from the 5 straight days in the 80s we had earlier this week
  4. Because they’ve made the playoffs twice in 30 years. That must automatically make them a dumpster fire! LOL
  5. You may be right. My eternal optimism and positivity strikes again. But they could be very fun to watch once they start hitting and call up Skenes. They already have a fantastic rookie in the rotation in Jared Jones
  6. Living in Pittsburgh now, I follow the Pirates closely. They have a lot of potential. They are in a weeklong hitting funk right now but I think they can finish above .500 if not contend for a Wild Card. Cruz and Hayes have not hit at all yet. Suwinski and Reynolds are phenomenal young players and role models
  7. I say this as a kid who grew up only going to Fenway and has since been to 7 different ballparks. PNC Park is legit. It’s basically a carbon copy of Camden Yards and Petco, and I would consider all 3 the best parks I’ve been to
  8. ‘Tis why I don’t post in most game threads
  9. Neither play was close. For the Yoshida one I was like wtf are you sending him home for?
  10. The Red Sox have won 10 straight games that I have attended. #11 looks like it’s in the bag
  11. Like I said yesterday, I will be at all 3 games. Last row of the lower level, directly behind home plate! Go Sox AND Buccos
  12. Despite their struggles over the last 30 years, the Pirates have a dedicated fan base. It’s been very easy to become a Pirates fan! Steelers were even easier considering the fact that I’ve never truly considered myself a Patriots fan, or a fan of any other team for that matter
  13. I went to one of the Orioles games two weekends ago and I fell in love with the ballpark! My office is also on the 19th floor right across the Allegheny so I have a beautiful look into the ballpark every single day. Staring at that view is what got me through tax season. The hope of a new beginning come spring. That’s why we love baseball!
  14. Well fellas, I will be at all 3 games in Pittsburgh. I am a new Pirates season ticket holder and am quickly falling in love with that team since they are actually fun to watch most nights. I’m quite torn over who to root for. It’s clear that the Red Sox aren’t going anywhere this year. The Pirates still might. I don’t want us to win the series and drag the Pirates down to our level
  15. We will be in every game this season if we can just play competent defense. Doesn’t have to be spectacular
  16. Anderson has also been a starter most of his career so I would figure he could fill in and at least do so competently
  17. Well we have the edge in the pitching matchup. All we can really do is take it one game at a time at this point. We persevered through injuries last year, at least through July.
  18. Call them women please. Nobody calls it the boys tournament
  19. And enjoy the game this weekend, Vegasbob! I’m going to all 3 at PNC when the boys come knocking in my neck of the woods later this month!
  20. Hey gang! Two more weeks of tax season and then I will be back here regularly! We’re 4-2, 2-0 in starts by Bello, but yet statistically, he’s our worst pitcher so far! How about that for the team with “no pitching”? Life is good. Can’t wait to get back to Boston and away from these 10 PM starts
  21. O’Neill looks like Dalbec with less hair
  22. This is the first ever Red Sox game I’ve watched on MLB.TV. It’s sad in a way. I’ve never not lived in New England
  23. I am in a free to enter, $1000 to the winner pool. I have 6 out of 8 Elite Eight teams left and all four of my Final Four. A grand prize win for me is very much possible. I also had an amazing time last Saturday night in Pittsburgh watching NC State and Oakland followed by Creighton and Oregon. It’s also where I caught COVID
  24. Go UConn! I promise I’m not a douchy fan who automatically picks them to win every year. Just a proud alumnus
  25. Nice to see a great performance on Opening Day for the first time in ages. I’ve been quite sick with Covid this week so it was quite nice to wake up to that this morning! So happy baseball is back. Great to be back with all of you as well
