  1. When you see consistency and success (like DET in recent years) year after year and then you win it all, you can make a case that a plan and a strategy aligned with the execution, was in effect to support the result. 2013 Boston Red Sox is in the middle of 3 horrible years (last place in every year) reason why I call it fluke... But again, without taking away credit to any player in that year... Where some of them put their best numbers in their careers and will never happen again... look at Koji, just for name one.
  2. 2013 was fluke year. The stars aligned. No one expected what most of the players delivered that year, not even the FO. On the other hand, I won't take away credit to any member of that team, included the FO.
  3. The GM only will help to make the diligences but the calls are going to be made by DD IMO. Just like in CHC.
  4. Very solid, accurate and realistic post.
  5. Both? I do not think so. It probably could be done straight up for one, especially XB.
  6. Like Sonny Gray?
  7. I think that good things will come. We can't go worse, right? We've been in last place for the last two years, so cheer up!
  8. Hopefully Porcello bounce back. I really really wish he proves me wrong. Said that, I would prefer that DD trades him somehow (sounds like impossible mission, but you never know), his contract is not for a decent back end rotation guy.
  9. If you are going to evaluate him based on that, I don't think you are making a good assessment MVP. Don't get me wrong. All I'm saying is that let him work, at least the guy has a solid profile for the job.
  10. Good to see JBJ in this shape. I always liked the guy.
  11. That's the thing, their past are clearly very different. Porcello was mediocre at best. DD is a winner.
  12. He put in Detroit in recent years one of the best team in all baseball. He is a winner. At least let's give him a chance to work.
  13. His recent years have been very good. He won the division for how many years in a row? 5?. I don't think we can compare him with Porcello. Porcello is a bum.
  14. It's time to sum. I think that before calling him Dumb, we at least have to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he shits the bed, he will have to go as well, but again, let him work first and then judge him.
  15. This division is weak and we are dead last.
  16. Hopefully He cleans all Ben's mess.
  17. Pretty much this. It's early but I like the DD move. At least it seems like he is going to have the empowerment and freedom to make the calls.
  18. That's the thing, the big moves were not good on paper.
  19. Yes he can, by putting the the right coaching staff and players, thing that have failed in this team in recent years.
  20. ... Plus the tendency of bad results in the last 3/4 years.
  21. His "philosophy" showed him the exit door. A new strategy and "philosophy" is what this team needs and it is what has been addressed.
  22. Exactly Bell.
  23. Aside 2015, The last 5 years have been very good in Detroit. His experience and success will help us. At least he has a better profile and experience (way far) than Cherington.
  24. Scapegoat? Really sk?
  25. Once the FO is rebuilt, this is the second priority.
