    They have passed on a lot good options in recent years. It was a mistake -like Lester- IMO. I'm not sure what is going to be available in 2017 but if what you say is true and if the guys I mentioned are untouchables -likely, IMO-, we will have to wait until 2018. We'll see though.

    mmm if they have payroll flexibly, I'd rather a FA but if Gray Carrasco Harvey, etc. are available via trade, it is ok for me... But IMO any of them would cost a big haul.

    Well, considering that Castillo can't hit and Young is close to useless and JBJ isn't nothing spectacular with his bat -yet-, I think I would take that line any day of the week. IMO Holt could be 330+ OBP player.

    The more I see Lester pitch the more piss me off the prior FO for letting him go, mostly when you see guys like Panda, Castillo, Porcello, etc. making the roster. Unbelievable.

    well, his prior start against NY he had these numbers; 5 IP, 3 ER. 5 SO/BB. If you want to consider only this start, ok. Hopefully he give us a QS.

    Tanaka's numbers vs our current lineup: ERA 7.13 Gsc 41 OPS 743 K/BB 4.25 We need to score soon and as many Rs as possible. I didn't like Owens in his last start.

    The logic answer is yes. I just want to see him spending more time with the big guys and figure out for once and for all what we are going to do with this guy, but based on a fair sample. IMO I still think that he is a better bet than Young -even with his current numbers in AAA-, but that's me.

    Exactly. You have a luxury in AAA who arguably showed something -whatever that means- when the Red Sox scouted him. I say let him play for once and for all.
