    DD brought some decent closers to Detriot and they didn't work out. Now DD brought arguably the best closer in baseball and he is not making the job as expected. This is weird.

    You don't know the guys and you hate them? Man, that's sick. (Not meant as an insult). You should not believe all that the media say. I have heard that the guy outside the game is a great human being, but you know what? I don't care. I don't care their attitude/personal life as long they perform and get the job done, and Pap is still one of the best closers in the game, and that's not debatable.

    Don't take wrong, I like the Kimbrel-Koji-Taz set up. It is arguably one the best in MLB. On the other and looking the whole thing in a retrospective way it was a mistake letting Pap go, considering what we have paid for other busts and what he have posted in Philly. He has earned every penny of his contract. How long is he going to last at this level? 40? I think so.

    Lol! I think you are not following the thread Station or at least how this came up. While I think just like you that they are not comparable -Papelbon has way a better track record as closer than Koji -I didn't started this hahaha. I just put an example of a durable pitcher like Papelbon among several, then u said that Koji has been better than Papelbon since he arrived here in every stat -which is a falacia - and I asked like which ones.... The rest is history.

    mmm... Which ones?. Papelbon still closing at high level. For instance, Koji isn't a closer anymore. Koji isn't durable anymore. Koji isn't 2103 Koji anymore and won't be again. Again. I like Koji but his track record as a closer is not even close to Papelbon's. Papelbon's durability and consistency as closer are making a case to Cooperstown.

    Several pitchers are durable, like Papelbon. Koji is not a durable pitcher anymore, go figure. It doesn't matter what he posts - although he is in decline mode IMO- if he can't stay healthy.

    104 in which period of time? LOL! Koji's a time bomb. His durability is never goimg to be the same. As I said, he is never going to be 2013 Koji's 74 IP. Look at 2014, he pitched 64 IP. 2015? 40 IP. Don't be surprised if this is his last season as a MLB player.

    Barnes is a lost cause. Don't take me wrong, I like Koji but expecting him being 2013 Koji is unreal.

    Koji had an outstanding 2013. He's never going to be at that level. He's getting older. He's likely in decline mode. On the hand IMO he's going to be helpful if he is not overused, otherwise don't be surprised if he passes more time at DL than on the mound.
