  1. It's 7-5, Os LOL! Detriot is a wreck train this year, they literally don't have pitching.
  2. Why is Young hitting ahead Shaw? If Young makes the lup he should be hitting 8th.

    The Cubs

BOS is the best team at offense based on wRC+. 2. BAL. 3. STL 4. PIT 5 CHC
  4. Well, I've been doing this for 5 years in a row in order to bet. I do this for every MLB game, everyday -- When I have time. I also have a soccer model. I have improved my models since then and it has worked pretty decent thus far. I have shared some of my results in the sports betting thread. I only bet when the model gives me a team with 25 points over the other. In this case BOS is 24 pts over HUO.
  5. Regarding tonight's game: Boston's team-power-% according to my model is at 73% while Houston got only 33%. Price got 48% of the points that my model consider in order to rank a pitcher while Keuchel only 31%. We should win this but this is baseball, right? LOL!
  6. Couple of things. Some of the reasons Price's ERA is high is because of his LOB% and BABIP. They are way ridiculous, 54% & 373....but... His K/9 is still great; 11. So, on the bright side you could expect a regress here. On the other hand his HR/FB is 11.8%. Just like I said in Porcello's case, If he doesn't improve this, his ERA will stay high regardless his K/9. Unlikely Porcello, the good news is that Price's career HR/FB% is average, while Porcello's isn't -- it is 12%. Price is around 9% after 8Y. Said that, Is his HR/FB% high due to the diminish of his velocity? or is it due to his command? or both? Anyways he has to settle down his HR/FB%, soon... tonight.
  7. Series is ours. Best talksox mojo at game.
  8. It's a shame, Trout is playing for LAA who are not going anywhere soon while his best years are going literally to the toilet. A haul for Trout makes sense for everybody, interested team -Boston- LAA and Trout. I won't be surprised if LAA trade him before the trade deadline.
  9. Wright and Papi are just great.
  10. Omg Farrell. Not sure why Barnes still there... And in our team.
  11. Owens' trade mark. Somehow this kid always finds a way to get out of jams. Watching him pitch is so stressful.
  12. I don't remember a NYY team this bad.
  13. Owens is definitely blessed by the Gods of baseball LOL!
  14. What I find interesting in Owens is his BABIP thus far. It is 346. Also, while his ERA is 4.8, his FIP/xFIP 6.92/6.45. His SIERA which consider BABIP? 5.92. Also his K/BB is 1. While his BABIP should normalize, his ERA estimators and K/BB are not encouraging thus far. This is going to be a tough game to win. We need to pound their rookie early.
  15. Well, Iglesias' UZR/150 is 3 points higher in 2015. ... but let me put it this way and aside stats, if I had to defend my infield --and both healthy-, and if the decision were based only on their glove, I'd choose Iglesias over Xander any day of week.
  16. Well I tried to go to every staff. My 2 fav hitters are Papi and Manny. My 2 fav SP are Pedro and Lester ... and my fav reliever is actually the best we have had. Papelbon. Yeah I like Pedroia, Nomar, Tek, Youk, etc. We have had great players in recent history but If I had to choose only five, I would take those I mentioned. My top? David Ortiz.
  17. oh yeah, I'm not arguing that, actually both and LL certainly put their 2 cents for our success in recent history, but they are also very gone because their results were not good in their last years of their tenure ... but since the thread is "Worst free agent/trade in Sox History" I began with my post #33.
  18. Have you applied for moderator? Seems like you like the job mvp.
  19. Well, if I had to choose my top 5 Red Sox players in recent history, I'd choose Pedro, Papi, Manny, Lester and Papelbon.
  20. I think I have to disagree a bit here my friend. While XB is way better hitter, Iglesias is way better at defense. On the other hand if I had to choose someone, I'd chose XB.
  21. In the past 20 years it is hard to say but in Theo's/Ben's tenure you could probably find the worst.

    The Cubs

Tomo they face WSN. It is going to be a great series. WSN wins tomo, though.

    The Cubs

Lester posted another solid start today. They just swept the Pirates in their home. Their rotation's numbers are ridiculous. Their offense is making a lot of runs. I have some questions at their BP but won't be a major problem, I guess. I don't see a better team right now. Won't be surprised if they win 100+ games this season.
  24. I was driving to home when suddenly an alert displayed in my phone saying CWS 2 BOS 0, and I said, this is going to be one of those long nights for my Sox. Buch settled down and the rest is history. Great win against a very tough team. If Buch give us two more months of this, call it deal.
