  1. Yes they are LOL! 9 of 10 times, 2016 Tillman should win against 2016 Fister.
  2. O's left 3 times the bases loaded in the game, and one of them in the 3rd --- if I remember well. Then in the bottom of the fifth Tillman was 2-2 with two outs with a runner on 3rd, and Valbuena hit a HR to take the lead. Gods of baseball made a call before this started. Houston was going to win this game, no matter what LOL!
  3. O's lost today. We are officially the best team in the AL and 2nd in MLB. We have to sweep the Rockies, their pitching sucks. Bettis who is pitching tomorrow is their ace.
  4. Salaries are not correlated with WAR numbers when a team makes an offer -- at very best is one of millions of things that they consider. Teams who are pro-stats have their own systems to value a players. There's an article posted several months ago in other thread that back up this. In the end, the market is who going to put the bar while teams take a lot of metrics, scouting and intangibles to make an offer according with their needs. On the other hand WAR shows you a decent perspective of the value of certain player, but you always have to take it with a grain of salt.
  5. It's nothing left in JdLR's tank. We should win this for a wide margin.
  6. Well, from an outside-in view, Cherington and Theo did not have the power and role that DD is having right now. LL was more likely what DD is right now, and he deserves most of the credit/blame of our success and failures in recent years. The other day I saw him in an interview with the people of NESN when he was officially inducted to the HOF-- btw the only time I have had the opportunity to listen this Sr-- and he seemed to me a very polite, educated an intelligent man, not sure why some people hated him at the time. Said that, I really like that DD is running this team. We needed this kind of profile. I think that he has the seniority, personality and background to lead us to a new success. Time will tell, though.
  7. Hahaha my wife says that I'm crazy LOl!. She can't understand why I watch everyday so many games and at the same time LOL! She always prepares me snack to watch the games, though. Yesterday she made guacamole. Love it with tostadas, cold beer and tequila.
  8. Well I try to watch most of them everyday LOL! http://s33.postimg.org/8wo90b3nz/image.jpg
  9. Well, the Os are finally losing, and ugly.

    The Cubs

You don't usually see too many gaps of away teams in SF but tonight out there are a lot of the cubbies.
  11. He supposedly got hit but swung, what proceeds?
  12. Yup, and not to mention he is so fragile. He is a DL resident.
  13. Seems like we are going to need one of those 10+ Rs games again.
  14. Wonder when is going to be the time for this team to realize that Clay Buchholz is done. When he is over 7 ERA?
  15. The more I think about it, IMO LL is the main responsible for the good and bad results under his tenure, and BC and Theo were nothing but his assistants at the time. The good thing for Theo is that it seems that he learned well LL lessons (good and bad) and got more experience, and is ready to execute in Chicago.
  16. Agree. That's the very least I would ask for Trout if I were LAA.
  17. I really doubt that LAA take that package for Trout. I wouldn't. Owens is not a top prospect by any means. Swihart doesn't have the value that he had two years ago. Benintendi isn't close to be reality..... but if Moncada, Benintendi, Swihart and Owens is the package to land Trout, I'd make in a heartbeat.
  18. I concur, I need to see them a couple of months more in order to make a call, and that includes James Shields.
  19. I meant throughout 9 y, not nine years ago. Also his last three years are very solid --- by era estimators and era, go figure.
  20. Era estimators after 9 year in the mid 3 are league average in run prevention? LOL! Yeah sure. Also, Zips, streamer and depth charts concur projecting very solid numbers this year for him... Again. Thus far he is in that highway.
  21. mmm... I love what I have seen in Wright... But I need to see more. IMO Porcello will regress to 4+ ERA soon. James Shields is a 3 ERA right now. Actually he is a 3.7 ERA career pitcher... But if you don't like ERA, his ERA estimators like FIP, xFIP and SIERA which isolate pitcher's abilities, James Shields is still a very good pitcher over 9+ years. The funny thing is that his ERA estimators and his ERA are practically the same -- around 3.7 over 9 y. i.e. The park friendlier and good defense arguments doesn't take away the fact that James Shields is a very good pitcher and he can pitch at great level anywhere.
  22. LOL! ERA estimators are meaningless in short samples, but if you like ERA estimators xfip and SIERA can tell you what kind of pitcher is James Shields. Last year he was a 3.7 SIERA/xFIP pitcher. He is 3.6 SIERA/xfip pitcher after 9 years, but if you like FIP he is 3.8 at it. Also, I said that he was pitching like an ace, because... Well he pitched like an ace today. Anyways, I'd rather Shields than any of our current staff no named Price, right now in our team.
  23. Yup. Probably he is not a No. 1 anymore, but a decent No 2? You betcha.
