  1. Farrel had mentioned the possibility of pulling Buch and Lester back a day because of the day off, which could possibly only make it one start (as in, one Aceves start). That being said, I agree with a700, its probably going to turn into 3-4 starts easy.
  2. Oops, I meant Chris Vazquez. I confused him with Chris Hernandez. To answer your question, he's an all-glove catcher in AA.
  3. You have to look at the players who are doing it though. Most of the damage has been done by Cano, Youk, and Hafner, and we all know that Cano is the only one of the group who will make it out of April healthy.
  4. Lavs. If he has trouble in the big leagues then bring up Hernandez for his glove.
  5. Josh Beckett really sucks. Its a bad sign when you give up a bomb to the #2 hitter in San Diego.
  6. I don't think there was anything lucky about it. We all complained because guys like Haren, Marcum and Mccarthy all had arguably higher ceilings, but he was also well-known to be the healthiest of the group. We'll see what happens, but the Dempster move makes more sense to me now than it did a few months ago.
  7. Its not about toughening him up-- its about getting his timing right in the minors so he doesn't go 0fer20 in his first week back while he's figuring it out.
  8. Fast forward to tomorrow so everyone else can watch a game already!
  9. Two ideas that have been thrown out in the past were Andrew Bailey for Rick Porcello, or Saltalamacchia for Gavin Floyd. Still like both of those trades.
  10. Its crazy that so many of the top SP options have really been scary. Haren and Mccarthy got bombed. Marcum is out. JJ is JJ. Greinke has been having elbow issues. This offseason's free agent SPs looks like a minefield.
  11. The Red Sox do need to add another back end starter, absolutely. That being said, do we really need a pessimist ranting about how bad the back of the rotation hasn't been?
  12. Dempster, Lackey and Doubront have given up an average of 2.66 runs per start between them. Boohoo.
  13. Rick Pitino is the man.
  14. Oh, I knew you were kidding, more me grimacing at making a bad prediction. That being said, I also said that the Happ v Lackey matchup would probably end up being a reverse lock and a complete pitcher's duel.
  15. Does anyone else think it is ridiculous for a guy who has been out with a concussion for several weeks to take one or two games and then jump right back in? Why not let him get on a hot streak in the minors before bringing him up?
  16. I was watching the box score at work today. Crazy to see this team get dominated by Chen early on, but glad to see Nava do some damage to him today. In other news, anyone see what's up with the Orioles rotation the next few days? They miss Hammel and Gonzalez, and get to hit against two guys throwing batting practice.
  17. Well, until Dojji starts sending him underwear in the mail, I think its pretty harmless:lol:
  18. He's going to have a top 20 OBP against RHP. He has no power or speed, but the OBP is good enough for him to stick until we see some very good options become available. With an OF of Bradley, Vic, Ells, the 4th and 5th outfielders really don't need to play multiple OF positions, which is convenient for him. Essentially, this argument has been done to death.
  19. We'll know by today. If he's hurt, they're going to have to DL him to bring up another pitcher. If he isn't DLed today, it means it isn't as serious as we thought. We'll probably see Alex Wilson brought up today.
  20. FYI, the Rockies are the ones trying to trade him, not the Dodgers.
  21. People tend to forget that his 1.021 OPS in 2012 was the best in the AL. Not only was he irreplaceable from a offensive standpoint, he was from a PR standpoint as well. That being said, wasting time arguing with SoxSport is utterly pointless.
  22. How happy are folks saving hundreds of dollars switching to Geico? Happier than Dojji when Nava hits a home run.
  23. Nava with a home run. I heard Toronto's bullpen was bad, but Nava?
