  1. No one with a strong farm system and a need for a closer is left though. That's what sucks now. Dodgers don't need to get Miller, I mean they could offer DeLeon, Holmes, and some other pieces but I'm meh to that deal.
  2. Which is fine, I'm happy to keep Miller. I think the Dodgers will grab one of the Rays bullpen arms like McGee as others have pointed out. I wouldn't trade Gardner or Miller unless we get something really nice back. Nova to some degree as well. With how weak the starting pitchers market will be next year, I bet we can give him a QO and get a draft pick out of him if he pitches even okay this year. I have a feeling Cashman will make three more trades. I doubt he signs any free agents, we don't really have a need for anyone that is left out there. I do like Upton though, but don't want to pay him like other teams will.
  3. No clue, it has to perhaps mean another move is in the works?
  4. http://nypost.com/2015/12/08/yankees-eyeing-astros-young-righty-flame-thrower/ Also King mentions Yankees interested in Vincent Velasquez from the Astros. I think I'd rather roll the dice on Appel plus another prospect myself for Miller. Wonder what the trade value Wilson has. Can't see us giving up both guys.
  5. I don't think so. Bullpen is still in good shape. Miller-Dellin-Wilson, form a great trio. One of Shreve, Pazos, Lindgren will work their way into the bullpen too. Same with Pinder, Barbato, Rumbelow, Goody, and Cotham. Add in Mitchell in a Warren type role. Really love Tanaka and Severino at the top of our rotation. One of Eovaldi and Pineda could click this year and really step up huge for us. Nova, CC, and Mitchell as the 5th. Not saying we shouldn't or couldn't make a deal or sign someone but it's not a horrible staff. Warren can be replaced and we dealt from a position of strength.
  6. Ryan is the 2nd player in the deal.
  7. Warren and PTBNL. Hate to see Warren go, I liked him, but Yankees have cashed in when their pitchers have been valued higher than normal. Phelps and Greene last year. I saw Warren as expendable though. I like Bryan Mitchell to step into a role like Warren has in terms of a good RP and a solid 4th starter. Excited to see Castro play, he had a heck of a 2nd half. I kind of wanted to see Refs get some ABs, but oh well.
  8. http://www.minorleagueball.com/2015/12/6/9855842/boston-red-sox-top-20-prospects-for-2016 I really like Moncada, Benintendi, and Espinosa. I think they all are good grades. I'm not as high on Devers as everyone else. Still a strong system. Side note I think Cecchini gets claimed, maybe by the A's? Kind of high on Longhi, not saying he's a B or higher guy, but I think he could become better.
  9. One Gray who you might not think of is Jon Gray of the Rockies. I think it'd be smart if you guys partnered up with the Rockies and made a trade. They aren't going anywhere and the Rockies could sell high on Gray before Coors really sours his value.
  10. Looking for Torrens to have a big year in 2016. I see we resigned Higgy and hope we pair them together. I can see him becoming a manager one day or even a scout for us. Sleeps for me next year are Coshow, Acevedo, Adams, Garcia, and Williams. Really think those four take a big leap onto the prospect map and in Williams case into the majors. Not saying he'll be an all star by any means but I think he'll end up having an impact when Ells or Beltran get hurt.
  11. Both had great command, both throw 90 mph. Igawa touched 94, Meada touches 95. Both have average change ups, and both rarely throw their sliders. Igawa was a lefty though.
  12. Diamondbacks will blow their load on him and could see the Dodgers and Giants in on him as well. Guy looks like Igawa II
  13. Once the Dodgers resign Grienke, I'd call up the Giants and discuss any of our pitcher with them sans Servino.
  14. Nah, this was a great dude deal. Unless he gets seriously hurt he'll opt out. You're paying for the tail end of his peak. If the deal didn't have an opt out I'd love it for as a Yankees fan. Sox got better, still need to do some work though before I start to get too worried. Red Sox have the most balanced team between the Yankees-Jays-Red Sox now. Jays hitting is still awesome and Yankees have the best pitching. I'd think the Sox are at the payroll limit now they are at 210 million though.
  15. I think you're over valuing Garnder and I'm under valuing him. It'll be an interesting GM meeting though, I think Cashman pulls off two moves during that time.
  16. Article stating Tigers could be interested in Gardner. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb-news/4662292-mlb-rumors-five-potential-fits-in-tigers-outfield-yoenis-cespedes-brett-gardner-jason-heyward I went to look at the Tigers team and wow it's a mess. Even with Zimmerman. Their payroll is upwards of 155-160 million already and they have so many holes in their team. I'd deal Gardner for Norris but I doubt the Tigers would. Their farm system is horrible. Alex Wilson would be nice, but I wouldn't deal a lot to get him and if the Tigers traded him their bullpen would need major work still.
  17. Damn if Happ got 3/36, Nova is an easy QO if he puts up halfway decent numbers. I think I'd hold onto him, unless we get an offer too good to pass up.
  18. I wouldn't trade Nova since no one is going to give us value for him. I think he comes out strong this year and wants that money in a contract year. I'd be okay with him as the 5th starter.
  19. He'd be worth taking a chance on if the price was low enough. Slide into the backup role and see what he can offer.
  20. I think they're going to shy away from him since he'll cost 220+ million. They see how these large deals handcuff them. We just need to be smart about how we spend our money and how we make trades and who sign now. I'd love to see what Zunino would cost from the M's though. They just sign Ianetta and figure that he's not apart of the picture anymore.
  21. Sox have the pieces to get him. Example's post was pretty spot on.
  22. We've got depth in the bullpen with Dellin and Wilson. We also have Warren who will likely be in the bullpen and The Strikeout Factory in Lindgren. Goody, Pazos, Rumbelow all have potential to be great 7th inning guys. We're just dealing from a position of depth when the price is sky high for these guys.
  23. Astros hell bent on getting a closer. Maybe they'd deal Appel for Miller?
  24. I've been reading trade offers on forums since 2005. I was the admin for one of the largest baseball forums for 2 years. I got to say congrats as you might be the only person on the internet ever to come to the realization that teams won't just hand over their top player for either 12 meh players or one top prospect and 4 c level guys. Moncada, Devers, Owens plus another prospect and maybe Swihart or JBJ depending on the 4th prospect sounds like a legit offer.
  25. I saw we are talking about a Castro for Gardner swamp. I hope the Cubs plan on adding in something to sweeten the pot though. The more I think about it, the more I'm for trading Gardner. I just hope its for the right price. I saw we asked for Walker from the M's. I'd love that, but understand if the M's wouldn't do that.
