  1. Happy to see Didi back in action. Sanchez should be back in two weeks or so. Romine has been doing a fine job. Hopefully Bird starts getting it together, im still a huge fan and he's been looking better in ABs lately. This has been one of the more fun Yankees teams to watch lately.
  2. That's a bit unfair to say. Even if you are in a slump, both pitched extremely well and have great talent.
  3. Servino and Tanaka doing some major work this series.
  4. Cashman has been trying to build the farm for a while now, George didn't want it like that.
  5. Really love our bullpen. I hope Holder can step up big this year. I think we could be in an interesting place this deadline. Where we could both sell and buy at the same time. I think Clippard and Gardner/Ellsbury could be packaged off. I thought Carter would produce better, but oh well. Can't win 'em all, anyone know the time table for Tyler Austin's return? June? We get Didi and Sanchez back... this line up will be really fun to watch. I even enjoy the Torreyes at bats.
  6. I think Ells and Headley will cool off soon, it'd be nice to see Bird get hot. Also looks like Romine is playing a hot hand lately.
  7. It's not the worst team. I don't expect them to get into the playoffs but I feel this is going to be a fun team to watch. We've got some pieces that we can cash in at the deadline and get some serious talent too. It will be interesting and fun to see how this team comes together in 2017 and 2018.
  8. Seems like we are in fact done, as Cashman didn't get any offers he liked for Gardner or Headley. I don't think we'll win the world series, but this isn't a bad team. Obviously, I wouldn't mind if we had some good production but still dropped games and made some more great trades at the deadline. Tanaka, Pineda, and Gardner could potentially get some strong returns this summers at the deadline. Even Clippard or CC could fetch something. CF- Gardner 2B- Castro 1B- Bird C- Sanchez DH- Holliday LF- Ellsbury RF- Judge 3B- Headley SS- Didi Bench - Romine, Austin, Hicks, and Refsnyder Tanaka, Pineda, CC, Servino, Cessa Chapman, Betances, Clippard, Heller/Holder, Sherve, Bleier, Mitchell. I bolded some guys I could see being moved or people I'd like to see moved this year.
  9. Really like both deals they pulled off today. Now time to sign Edwin and I think that'd push them over the Astros to be the favorites in the AL. I have to admit DD is building a very good team.
  10. I'm expecting to see another under the radar type trade as Cash did with the Clippard one or maybe sign Ziegler. Chapman is a must unless someone offers more than 100 million. The dude is a most watch on TV and the Yankees know that.
  11. Yankees BP Top 10 1. Torres 2. Frazier 3. Mateo 4. Rutherford 5. Sheffield 6. Kaprielian 7. Judge 8. Abreu 9. Wade 10. Adams https://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=30752 Solid list, a little high on Abreu, a little low on Tate.
  12. I'm pretty sure I read the White Sox wanted a package like JBJ, one of Moncada or AB, Devers, and ERod for just Sale. Which is pretty realistic. I think the Astros end up with Sale if anyone does. Something like Martes, Tucker, Paulino, Cameron, and Fiers/McHugh.
  13. Could CC be the next to go? http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2016/11/mlb_trade_rumors_yankees_cc_sabathia_next_veteran.html
  14. Really hoping we can trade Betances for a huge haul. Sign Chapman (5/90) and Melancon (4/50) and maybe even Holland for (2/22). I'd like to pass on Beltran and maybe go for Matt Holiday now.
  15. Post McCann trade 1. Torres 2. Frazier 3. Rutherford 4. Mateo 5. Kaprielian 6. Judge 7. Sheffield 8. Abreu 9. Tate 10. Acevedo Yankees current payroll will sit around 155 million. I'm excited to see what else is in store. We have some addition pieces that could be sold away. Payroll room to add some interesting free agents too.
  16. Not a bad deal at all. I had wanted in a dream world Whitley or even Paulino but Abreu and Guzman seem like nice high upside arms. I wonder if they keep dealing and trade Headley and Gardner. Maybe even Pineda? I think Cashman signs Beltran for a 1 year deal at 12.5 million with the money he saved. I hope we go after Holland for 2 years 20 or 22 million.
  17. Yeah, he's a nice bat, but I wouldn't count on him to be a huge part of the season. He's a nice backup to Judge in RF and Bird at 1B though. I wouldn't hurt their development for Austin. We just need to keep making smart moves. Yankees AFL roster is a must follow too. Slowly building a very nice team with impressive depth.
  18. We talked about this in another thread, but that's just what I'd do. We all got different opinions.
  19. Well I hate to say we're done, but the season is over. It was actually a pretty memorable one though. Here's some thing I'd love to see the Yankees do this winter. I'd look into trading McCann to the Nationals actually. I think he'd be a good fit there and they would be more in favor of taking on salary. I don't think Ramos resigns with them. Braves could be a factor too. I'd try to trade Ellsbury, but I doubt anyone will take him or CC. So we're just kind of stuck with them. I'd deal Tanaka and Castro for Bellinger, De Leon, Sheffield, and Farmer. I'd deal Judge, Mateo, and Tyler Webb for Jon Gray and David Hill. I'd deal Brett Gardner to the Nats for Fedde or the Guardians for McKenzie. I'd deal Romine to the Giants for Matt Krook. I'd sign Chapman for 5/82 million. Obviously a high number but I think thats what he'll end up getting. I mean if it's less than awesome. I'd be down to resign Butler for 500K or even Beltran for $12million Starting lineup would be CF: Ellsbury SS: Didi 1B: Bird C: Sanchez DH: Butler/Beltran 3B: Headley RF: Hicks 2B: Refsnyder LF: Williams/Austin Bench: Higgy, Torreyes, Austin/Williams, & maybe a ST battle for the last spot on the bench. Rotation: CC, Pineda, Gray, Servino, & De Leon Bullpen: Chapman, Betances, Clippard, Warren, Sherve, ST Battle, and Mitchell. We'd have a strong group in Triple-A with Bellinger, Frazier, Cessa, Montgomery, and Green, plus another army of BP arms. I'd like to offer a minor league contrac to Hundley and Mathis maybe one of them will take it. Pair them with Farmer behind the plate down there. Is this team a world series contender in 2017? No, but this could be a really fun team to watch. With great flexibility. The payroll would be around 150-160 million so we could always take on a salary in a payroll dump to improve at any spot too. If we don't preform well, we could trade off Clippard, Pineda, and even Butler or Warren and Headley at the deadline to gather more prospects. I forgot, I'd sign Lourdes too.
  20. The thought of Bird, Sanchez, and Judge hitting in the middle of the order is pretty cool.
  21. I can see that but I just think he'll get hurt or if he doesn't he'll opt out. I'm a huge fan of Bellinger and Sheffield. It's time for Cashman to make some smart trades this off season. He's got some interesting trade chips still around and maybe some surprise ones too.
  22. Hats off to the red sox this series. but in regards to your post... I hope we deal McCann and Gardner. I would not deal them for nothing, but I'm not asking for top prospects back either. I would also deal Romine, sell high while we can. I think Hicks would be the LF before Williams too. I'd love to see what Jon Gray would cost. C: Sanchez 1B: Bird 2B: Castro SS: DiDi 3B: Headley LF: Hicks CF: Ellsbury RF: Judge DH: Billy Butler or Carlos Beltran Bench: Refs, Williams, Higgy, and I guess Torreyes. I hope to see Fraizer get at least half a year in Triple-A. Sign Chapman. If Derek Holland's option is declined, I'd see if we could sign him. I'd also float the idea of trading Tanaka for Bellinger, Calhoun, and Sheffield. I actually think this could be Cashman's greatest off season or most important at least.
  23. Cessa improved last night, still needs to learn to pitch a little more. I like what I'm seeing from him though. Can't blame him for those two Manny homers. Excited to see him next go, I hope he can start to think about his pitch count more.
  24. I'm interested to see how well Green pitches today. Cessa and Green both have to iron out some stuff. Cessa looked tired at 80 pitches, which is understandable given how he was flipped between starting and the bullpen. I'd like to see Green keep attacking hitter today. Jordan Montgomery was pure money last night for Triple-A. Would love to see him get a legit shot next year in Spring Training.
  25. Chad Green dirty tonight. He pitched well, but still has a lot to work on. I'd like to see him get regular starts unless he completely loses his s***. Servino needs to go down to Triple-a and work on some of his stuff. Just needs to refine himself more.
