That was how I saw it as well. The luck part of it was that the Sox found a team dumb enough to assume those big useless contracts just to get Gonzalez.

Yeah I don't get all the Price hate at all. It's funny. When Price was initially signed I posed a question to the board about what the fan reaction would be if he was not pitching the way that he had been for the prior 7 years or so. Would he be given any slack or would he immediately be deemed a bum? Given the enormity of the contract and all. I now have my answer.

He must get a shot at 4th OF in spring training. He is hitting the s*** out of the ball in the Mexican winter league or whatever it is. Something like 6 dingers in 14 games. Not sure of the level of competition, though.

Not so sure about that. The Celtics did not exactly "tank" as such but they purged the roster to rebuild and now it is all coming together for them. All the while the fan base remained loyal. Of course Danny Ainge probably has a s***-ton more cred in this town than Dombrowski.

Unless he can hit taters or strike guys out I don't see how much good this will do. But he is buddy-buddy with Dombrowski so I can see why it is happening. Like Jack Flap said "Meh".
