  1. Oye. A Monopoly is a monopoly. There is no gray area here. Are things better for some players than they were before the Anti-trust was tested? Yes. However MLB still enjoys a monopoly.
  2. All well and good Kimmi. But MLB is indeed a monopoly. History proves this.
  3. My heart pumps piss for the lot of them.
  4. Major props for quoting Mel Brooks.
  5. Common sense.
  6. This is f***ing excellent.
  7. At least he is f***ing Jenny Dell.
  8. I'm down with it.
  9. I thought that you must have been being sarcastic but I took a look. Holy s*** he does have a very high OBP and has been very consistent. In about 1300 MilB at bats his OBP is .401
  10. I'll say it again, the Sox have shot themselves in the foot trying to low-ball Betts. Whatever happens with this case he most likely will remember it come contract time. I think he is gone at his first chance. Just dumb business.
  11. I think the Pistons got raped. Didn't they give up 2 number 1s and a second? Even if it's only one of each they lost what they need to rebuild with. Griffin will do nothing for that team.
  12. Yup. I met Robert Parish once in a DeAngelos sub shop on RT9. in Natick. His wife was sitting in their Mercedes when I arrived and he was sitting sideways in a booth waiting for his order to be ready. I ordered and as I was walking past him I said "I bet you are glad that series is over." He looked at me and said "You got that right". The Celts had just been mauled in the finals by the Lakers. Robert Parish has always been a cool dude in my mind. Hell of a player, too.
  13. What about 2015 and 2017?
  14. Yup. And he did not put his house in Waban ( Newton ) on the market until after the Cubs deal was made. He could have been back if a solid offer had been made in time.
  15. I like Porcello and have done so since he plunked and threw to the ground Youk. Never the less he is a mid-rotation innings eater that had one very good year. At least the Sox got something for loosing Lester.
  16. I'd be shocked to see any of the "old" Pedey again. I'd love to see it but I think it's just wishful thinking.
  17. "Or not". Fixed this for you.
  18. Yup. Of course he could have gone out and gotten any number of players instead. But who would have been better choices and what players would have been acceptable losses to use in getting them?
  19. Lol. I read your posts. And I agree with you here. Borrass can eat s*** and die for all I care. And JD is sounding more like a player that does not belong in Boston as this thing continues. He can suck a dick, too.
  20. Is Cleveland looking to move Salazar?
  21. I saw a report yesterday by Rosenthal. He said with over 130 FA as yet unsigned it is very doubtful that they will be signed by spring training. That would require about 4 each day to sign. He said that clubs are looking to be more "efficient" using analytics. They don't want to pay players for so much of their decline years. This sounds like a big mess to me. We keep talking about JD but there are a bunch of guys looking at either not having MLB jobs or signing for far less that they had expected and for fewer years.
