  1. We still have to offer him like 12-13 million for 1 year though right? He might not be so quick to turn that down anymore.
  2. Hopefully Ellsbury doesn't suck so bad that he loses his draft pick compensation.
  3. And our next opponent, the Rays, are looking to be over .500 so they can be a problem for us coming up. We need to figure s*** out and now or else we're going to start falling behind in the division, and this division might be a 4 way dog fight in which only a few teams can make the playoffs.
  4. We have one, he's just sitting on the bench for some reason. I'd rather bench him the next lefty we see than against this guy.
  5. We should be scoring like 10 runs a game off of Ortiz/Buerhle/Jenkins. The other division rivals rotations would likely no-hit us if our offense shows up like this series.
  6. What then explains the Yankees time machine success? They should have fallen down to earth since Opening Day.
  7. While I do agree that they are generally overworked, especially the two Japanese pitchers, Tazawa had last been used on Wednesday. Dempster, Lackey, Lester, and Buchholz had done a good job recently of eating innings. They have to keep it up and hope that some relievers come back strong so it's not just Uehara/Tazawa that are reliable. And if we can find a 5th starter that can get some outs without walking the ballpark, then our bullpen should be in good shape going forward, especially with Morales coming back.
  8. Yeah based on how we handled Cy Young candidates Ramon Ortiz and Mark Buerhle, we might have our hands full with Cy Jenkins.
  9. Cardinals follow Shelby Miller's 1 hit shutout of the Rockies with a 2 hit shutout of the Rockies by Adam Wainwright. There was a stretch of 49 straight batters retired without a hit.
  10. On the bright side we really have been giving our bullpen some time off.
  11. I still can't see the Sox being shutout by Buerhle, especially with how poor the Jays defense is, the fact that Buerhle is topping at mid 80's and the Sox are getting baserunners. It's only a matter of time before one gets put over the Green Monster.
  12. The thread is only 57 (58) posts deep so that's not too hard.
  13. If you added a swear and some capital letters that sounded like something MacDaddy would say.
  14. It means our prospects are going to come up and replace Ellsbury because he sucks so badly.
  15. I wouldn't be sad if we let Ells walk now.
  16. At least we god Ellsbury's groundout out of the way so he won't have to lead off the next inning with it.
  17. Now that I think about it you mispelled his first name too.
  18. I feel like Ortiz and Napoli will lead the league in LOB.
  19. It would be kind of funny if Buchholz went out of his way to cheat for this one against the Jays, if nothing else just to stick it to the announcers. Either that, or if he wins again if he tweets at the announcers "was I cheating this time or does your team just suck?"
  20. So you know a700 Salty's last name in your sig is spelled incorrectly.
  21. That and he takes a long time to waddle to the pitcher's mound so play will continue as he's slowly weeviling his way over.
  22. From what I saw it was going to rain throughout the afternoon but be clear all evening/night.
  23. Hahaha even your post reads like you're drunk Spud. Missed ya.
  24. They didn't just give up good prospects, they gave up a ton of prospects/players, of which a few of them were good, and they took on a s*** load of money for a large amount of years. If these guys (Buerhle/Johnson and maybe even Reyes) are injured or playing like this for the rest of their contracts, Toronto is in a lot of trouble.
  25. And then he uses whatever substances the current NY corpses are using and wins the Cy Young as a reliever.
