  1. Looks like Winston Churchill to me...
  2. Yeah, even if the Sox don't win the title every year, they have what it takes to compete year in and year out for a long time. Barring catastrophic injuries though...
  3. I'd expand on what Jacoby_Ellsbury said and say screw the Rangers period...
  4. Yeah, it would be much closer to the 2 catchers sharing a role rather than having one distinct starter and one distinct backup. I think the playing time between the 2 catchers will be much more equal.
  5. Personally I think our lineup can afford 1 black hole. And if it's not Lugo it might as well be the catcher's spot. To add, I doubt any lineups in baseball are rich from 1 to 9.
  6. Don't put yourself down. Yours was more thorough.
  7. Although that makes me wonder if the Peavy trade is going to go down, since the Padres had wanted Olson in part of the trade. Now that Olson is no longer with the Cubs, are they going to be able to put together a package for Peavy?
  8. I know...and I share the same time zone quandary. Being 5 hr's ahead really stinks.
  9. The problem is that you can't mash them together to make 1 above average catcher. You'd have to use 3 roster spots for them all. In other words I'm saying that 3 decent/ok catchers isn't any better than 2 decent/ok catchers. We need a catcher that's more than just "blah", or else we'll have a black hole in our lineup (not named Lugo) and some potential pitching problems throughout the season. (in terms of gamecalling)
  10. He probably will, but he seems like a player that the Twins may make an exception for, especially with Pohlad no longer in office (RIP). I'm not saying that the Twins will be able to beat out the Yankees in terms of spending, but with the help of Pohlad the Twins certainly have the resources available to make themselves known. I know this is just speculation, but Mauer also doesn't seem to be as money-hungry as other players. I mean he has to know that he's a one of a kind player, but he doesn't seem as likely to screw his own team over for money. Obviously that's just speculation, as there are no facts to prove/disprove it, but I just don't see Mauer being a Yankee for the rest of his career.
  11. I don't think that's true. The Sox pretty sorely need a catcher. Maybe after we trade and get a young catcher you can say that we don't need one, but right now we need one pretty badly.
  12. Is it just me, or does there seem to be a triangle war between soxprospects.com, talksox.com, and sonsofsamhorn.net. I don't know much about the last one but there seems to be a fair amount of hatred amongst the three.
  13. I got banned for a slightly different reason...haha. Oddly enough, jsinger was one of the only mods I had absolutely nothing against. Doesn't jsinger have an account here?
  14. Girls, you're both pretty...stop fighting...j/k
  15. I agree, I just (along with much of the country) f***** hate Duke...
  16. LOL. Let's just say that I have a little bit of history there....
  17. Wow, I'm just figuring out that diony is a yankee fan....damn...what a waste of a good avatar...
  18. I just think Texas got enough the last time we traded with them. And they only got a butt load for Teixeira because they screwed the Braves as well. The Rangers owe us as far as I'm concerned.
  19. Yeah but I think he hits on the same side as Varitek's "good" side, so they want a lefty. I'm not challenging what you bring up, but that's just a disadvantage for Brown.
  20. Either way...he's not Varitek...
  21. Isn't ripping your (former) boss through a public medium and not getting in trouble for it the American Dream???
