    Some in the national media also pushed Roman Anthony's rankings earlier than SoxProspects did, so I would have to say they missed the boat with him a little there... Just because they are the local source doesn't mean they are infallible. They talk to the same scouts and sources the national guys do.

    The rankings are also very fluid. Paulino was ranked 10th at the start of the year and will probably be in the 20's at the end of this year. Meidroth was in the 40's at the end of last season. Garcia just jumped up 21 spots. Brannon was ahead of him in their previous rankings. They have overreacted on prospects before...

    I'd trade him if the return is decent (i.e. a top 20 prospect).

    Who cares about team control for a guy like Arroyo? In a career year, he maybe gets 1 fWAR. Not worth worrying about the team control IMO.

    They were keeping Houck stretched out, which in hindsight seems like a good idea since he was an ok starter this year. His stuff didn't really play up in a bullpen role. Maybe he is just a bulk reliever?

    Brannon and Garcia are 18 and 19, it's a little too early to definitively state either way. Brannon is mashing in Salem. Garcia is mashing in FCL. Brannon has bigger power upside. Garcia is a more all around athlete.

    Garcia is a bat first guy too. I wouldn't automatically assume he sticks at C long term.

    Brannon's defense isn't that great right now. He's a work in progress (at best) at blocking. Tell is far and away their best catching prospect right now and it's not close.

    He's been better so far this season vs LHP. There's a definite split, but you can hold your nose with a 700 OPS. If it trends lower, then you platoon.

    He's low shot to be a starting catcher probably. He could probably start elsewhere or be a backup C and part time LFer.

    They also could have dealt Ward in the offseason since he clearly had a lot of value. Enough to be taken 1st overall in the draft. It was just a waste to do what they did with him.

    Hill was the oldest player in MLB and has a lengthy injury history, but you're worried about them managing his innings??? PIT isn't holding back this season and his ERA/FIP are worse off for it.

    SoxProspects will most likely rank Teel #6 on their site per what they said on their podcast. Teel should start in Greenville next season and could get through the system pretty quickly. Has better all around tools than the other catchers in the system right now. Zanetello is a pure athlete who will split time between SS and CF. Probably signs for over slot.

    @tylermilliken_ Red Sox continue to add pitching depth by signing Dinelson Lamet to a minor league deal. He was just released by the Rockies after posting a 11.57 ERA/6.57 over 25.2 IP. 10.9 K/9 and 7.7 BB/9.

    I agree. It's one thing to sit down and watch some bad baseball on tv, it's another to drag your ass to Fenway and have to deal with all that goes with it including cost and comfort. Without fees, it'd be $180 to get the cheapest seats in the stadium for my family on Thursday night when I'm in town. That's before food and all the other crap.
