  1. I would protect: Wikelman Perales Gambrell Drohan They are all MLB starting pitcher upside guys. I would consider protecting: Bonaci Scott Bonaci is going to the AFL. It'll be interesting to see which position he focuses on. Scott is a good player, but I'm not sure they trust him as the 3rd catcher/bench 1B. His defense is just ok and still a work in progress.
  2. Kim Ng's contract with the Marlins concludes at the end of the 2023 season as well. I've heard her name recently on the wind.
  3. I'd move Scott down to the possibles/bubble section.
  4. Why discount his 2022 numbers? It's probably more likely that he'd repeat the most recent season that he would repeat a short stretch from 2020.
  5. They probably keep Mata through Spring Training and see if his arm is playing up in a relief role.
  6. If the new CBO is from outside the organization, there are names that could be brought in that none of us have on our radar.
  7. Verdugo has maxed out as a 2 fWAR guy. He's good, but if that defense takes a step back, it gets pretty ugly. The 100 wRC+ out of him is a big letdown, but it's probably closer to what our expectations should have been.
  8. DH/backup 1B profile. Big platoon split. I think he's still a top 60 guy, but I see why he fell.
  9. Nobody should be untouchable.
  10. I agree that 2011 doesn’t measure to 1978. I think 2003, 1986 and 1978 are all kind of in a similar boat.
  11. CHB blamed the owners?!?!? OMG!!!
  12. Must not get out much.
  13. LOL wut?
  14. After reading what moon wrote, I'm fine if anyone wants to grade Bloom lower than a D+. I don't think you can rationally argue him as having a B- tenure.
  15. With the Ben regime, he didn't trade from the minor league talent, but I don't think they really added much to the minor league either. He lucked into Benintendi, but the remainder of those drafts were pretty bleak overall. If he didn't win in 2013, he is definitely worse than Chaim IMO. However, he DID win in 2013 so he gets a nice C-. Chaim gets a D+.
  16. You don’t believe sources from outside the organization?
  17. Nola will break down because of mileage, so they should bet on guys that typically can only go 130 innings a year?
  18. Why would you put Anthony in LF? He’s a good enough athlete to play CF, but will be great in RF in Fenway.
  19. Ownership believes they have a long term position for him somewhere if not manager. He’s not leaving the org IMO.
  20. They matter. Look at how this pen got used up this year. This rotation needs a dawg.
  21. No, someone like Theo.
  22. Yes, I do.
  23. He seems like a good fit for the Dodgers.
  24. Zero chance.
