    Since '23: 689 OPS Story 759 OPS Masa Downgrading the offense, but upgrading the defense from Mead to Story. Think I'd rather just go with Sogard at 697 OPS and better swing and miss.

    The best fit for him is to stay in NY, but COL should call him up and give him a big contract.

    They'll have to make additional moves for Rule 5 protection (if necessary) and any offseason adds. I agree about Kelly and Jones. They may try to sneak White onto the roster somehow. I'm sure Brez will move some people that we don't expect.

    Only one? A large part of me says Masa because I don't want to clog up the bench with a DH. I think I'd also just like to move on from the free swinging Story and have Arias hit 9th on Opening Day. They went on the winning streak while Masa was on the roster. They couldn't do that while Story was there. Story gets DFA'd.

    I think they need to clear 4 spots right away from what Cotillo said. Burgos DFA Cheng DFA Moran trade Eaton trade McAdam floated the idea of DFA'ing Campbell so that you take him off the 40 man, since nobody wants that contract. I think that's more likely to happen next offseason when his options expire.

    The newer roof made that stadium a little less dreary, but it's still a dump. Worst stadium in the league. A new ballpark won't help their fans either. They'll still have excuses for why they can't fill up the seats.

    Story's max throw from SS was 76th out of 79 at SS (82.9 mph) last season. For overall mph he was 74th out of 79 (79.7 mph). IKF was 79th for both.

    I think the DRS shows that he's not an absolute butcher with the glove, but the lack of range with OAA means he just needs to move over to 2b. Arguably, not worth the trade proposed IMO.

    It's an expected BOS HR chart vs actual. Feel free to ignore the BAL numbers. He is a pull hitter that loses lots of value if moved to Fenway and only has 2 years of control. Last 3 seasons: -8 DRS, -46 OAA He needs to be moved off SS. Absolutely terrible at SS.

    If Roman is healthy and Duran isn't a schlub, bench DH gets way less than 280 PA.

    How do the Phillies do it? The controlling interest of the Phillies has the appetite for it. Zero WS banners since Montgomery took his leave of absence in '14 and Middleton increased his shares. They've been all in since hiring DD late 2020. John Henry doesn't have the appetite to spend. He just wants to make money. He already has 4 rings. What's a few more to him?

    I'm changing my mind on this. If Alonso signed here, he woulda FLOPPED! Bad signing. Shouldn't have even made an offer TBH.

    A bench DH? Seems like a waste of a roster spot to me. They did that last year in hopes that someone would get hurt (and someone did). It's still a bad idea though.

    I agree about his health. I also worry about the FO overlooking the "swing hard at all costs" approach that is hurting players.
