@tylermilliken_ Some more updates on the Red Sox front office search from @bradfo: - Twins GM Thad Levine and the Red Sox have “elicited mutual interest” in each other. - And apparently another longtime GM who isn’t currently holding a GM or POBO role has talked with the Red Sox. Other GM is Sabean probably?

@JeffPassan The Miami Marlins wanted to hire a president of baseball operations over general manager Kim Ng, leading to her departure from the organization, sources told ESPN. When reached, Ng declined comment. But sources said she would've been the No. 2 after constructing a playoff team. Marlins ownership is such a joke. Embarrassing.

There are two potentially open positions. Maybe Ng is hired and Romero is elevated to GM?

Eovaldi has thrown 3x the amount of innings as Sale since 2021. Eovaldi has injury concerns. Sale is a sinking ship.

Sale's recent injury history outweighs overall concerns about Eovaldi IMO.

I'd be more confident in Ng than Bloom. She was with the Yankees and Dodgers as Assistant GM for a long time. She made a few good moves as Marlins GM.

Ng would come in as CBO, or should. In theory, she'd be higher than the people that stayed.

Theo didn't really have a say as he came along with the group, I believe. Cherington predated the JH purchase so his people would have been already in house. I don't remember DD bringing anyone new in aside from LaRussa. Yuck!

I think you’re overstating the problem a bit. There needs to a clean slate, but I don’t think there were knives out for Bloom until after he was out the door.

But Henry believes he’s getting Mike Hazen, Kim Ng or an experienced GM/CBO. That person will be less likely to be interested.

I will agree that there hasn’t been enough change. Why is BOH there? What is the purpose of Sam in baseball meetings? I like Eddie, but there are too many JH pals hanging around. I said yesterday that 4-5 FO positions need to go so that the new GM/CBO can do their job.
