  1. What's your definition of "hunt?" If they are 3-5 games out of the WC? If they hold a WC spot? If the team is looking really solid, the young core is playing great and all the pitching is holding up, they could make a case to be buyers at the deadline. That's a lot of IFs though. It's more likely there are a few holes and the team is just not quite ready for a run. If this team is in the same position they were in '22 and '23, they need to sell. Both times, they were on the outside looking in and the team was on a noticeable downturn.
  2. Adalberto, c'mon down!
  3. We're gonna need you to move the 45 yard field goal try back about 20 yards...
  4. Money for nothing and your prospects for free.
  5. Best case is he's pretty good, but not great and doesn't opt out. Then he has a CY caliber season in '25 when the Sox march to the playoffs.
  6. I heard that the Sox are looking to trade Trevor Story. Think they can pull it off without eating salary? If so, who plays SS? It would have to be an acquisition.
  7. Yeah, about that...
  8. His quality is much higher on his own baseball show. He'd be goddamn awful at 5:59, then at 6:01 he'd be good after Felgie left. His voice was 10% less annoying too.
  9. Yup! Don't buy a Giolito jersey kids. Sox won't be signing his next contract.
  10. Also, while Grissom struggle in a SSS in MLB last year, in AAA he hit 920 with 50% of his games in a pitcher friendly environment and being young for the level. If he didn't lose eligibility, he'd be a top 50 prospect most likely.
  11. If Gio maxes out in '24, they better deal him because he's opting out.
  12. There is a notable pattern. I hold the faults of this organization at Henry's desk first and foremost. He put the Sox into a tailspin that Crag is now trying to pull them out of. Unfortunately, the fans are taking the brunt of it.
  13. He's definitely ahead of Yorke. Bleis isn't a top 100 prospect after his lost season due to injury. He had a longer stretch of MiLB offensive production than Rafaela, but doesn't have the 80 defense. Teel was a 1st round talent who hasn't slowed down since joining the Sox. If he's ahead of Teel, it's only because of sample size. I'd put him 4th just barely ahead of Rafaela. I think his bat will play at the MLB level and that he'll be ok at 2B. Rafaela will play a GG CF, but I have loads of questions about his hit tool.
  14. Like I've said before, Felger & Mazz version of Mazz is the bad version. When you get him away from that gimmick, he is a decent baseball guy.
  15. The Interest Kings!
  16. Probably 3rd or 4th.
  17. I think Breslow has been shown to be more of a wheeler dealer than Bloom. I think if the Sox aren't in contention at the deadline, a lot of guys including Pivetta and Giolito will be on the block.
  18. We're just leaning on Bailey to fix whatever is going wrong with current day Giolito. Maybe it works? When Giolito is bad, he's Pivetta. When he's good, he's much better for sure.
  19. You got mad when he said that they were out on Yamamoto and wouldn't spend on the Monty/Snell tier either. Now all the reports are saying that's the case.
  20. Sox have no problem letting leaks that seem to favor them get out. Funny that the leaks that don't favor them mysteriously stay hidden.
  21. It's not treason, Henry has just shown that he's not willing to pay players and field a competitive team since 2020. Why give ownership the benefit of the doubt here? Mookie went out and got his 300M FMV elsewhere.
  22. Dalbec is 5.5 years older than Grissom. Grissom may not work out, but he needs to be given a longer rope than he was given in ATL. Good thing in BOS only Pablo Reyes and Enmanuel Valdez play the same position as him. The knock on Grissom's bat was that he hasn't shown in game power yet. His contact skills are good, but chases out of the zone a little too much.
  23. It's a short term deal for a guy that is a near guarantee to give innings. The bullpen fell apart last season because of overuse. Having a guy like Giolito instead of Sale helps in that respect. There's a little more certainty going forward. I'd like to see Crawford and Pivetta stick in the rotation too. Acquisition Bello Giolito Crawford Pivetta
