    I already posted my thoughts above. Ref would ONLY play LF. Duran would go to CF in almost every situation as I think he's terrible in RF. Rafaela can move to 2B or RF.

    He only had 0.2 fWAR last season. He doesn't need to start every game vs every LHP.

    It's $ you can use strictly as a bench bat and it impacts nothing. He'll get a decent amount of PA's. Cora will find a good use for him.

    Duran had a 749 OPS vs LHP last year. That's not flailing. If he flails, bench him. Nobody is suggesting otherwise. Duran isn't the only guy that could be platooned. Also, STOLEN BASES AREN'T THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO WITH SPEED AND DURAN ISN'T A GREAT BASESTEALER ANYWAY.

    Dugo hit LHP well in 2020. He never did it again. Duran hit LHP well in 2023. We just have to see if he can do it again.

    @SoxProspects Per the @BaseballAmerica transactions, the Red Sox signed OF Mark Contreras to a minor league deal. MIN 9th-rd pick from UC Riverside in 2017. Most of last 3 years in AAA. Limited MLB experience in '22. .274/.352/.418 in '23. Plays all 3 OF positions. A LHB for the OF??? Crag doesn't know what he's doing!!!!!! He'll probably hit 20 bombs in WOO. Seems to have a decent arm and can play all 3 OF positions. Hope we don't need to see him in Fenway though.

    He definitely isn't the only LHB. Verdugo will need days off. Rafaela can be moved to other positions (2B/RF) to help cover platoon issues. In that scenario, Duran slides to CF and Refsnyder plays LF.

    No way will OAK move on from Gelof and that value is way too low on him. Gorman is LHB and a bad 2B. Caballero is a low ceiling guy with a good glove. Estrada is Caballero with pop, but less control. Ibanez is a cheap replacement, but on the older side. Lopez had one really good season, but hits LH anyway. India is one of the worst fielding 2b in the league. Aside from India, they'd all be upgrades from what we have in varying degrees. I'm not sure all the teams would be amenable to trades, especially OAK. I'd rank them: Gelof (trade Yorke and Drohan) Estrada Caballero Lopez Ibanez Gorman (LHB, not a good defender, expensive to obtain) India

    He gave everyone a glimpse last season. Give him the shot to earn a starting job this year.

    Sox don't make any sense for Ohtani IMO. I think the contract is too high and he can't pitch this season. He's also coming off his second TJS. Why would a brand new CBO take that risk?

    He doesn't have much trade value, but most of his splits were carried by his 2022 season. He wasn't really that good in 2023 (828 OPS with LF only glove). Duran hit 749 vs LHP with a similar defensive profile, but was an impact runner on the basepaths.

    DeGrom and Heaney were likely going to not pitch up to their deals. That rotation has lots of volatility.

    @SoxSpects Larry Lucchino is looking to sell Worcester Red Sox. No sale is imminent. Now that is a rumor.
