  1. I think there is a dropoff after Mata at 27.
  2. I think Slaten is better than Fernandez (doesn't have the health concerns). Fitts at 15 is fine?
  3. Guys with potential mean that other teams' scouts have eyes on them. Good trade bait.
  4. Not if you're going to open up the checkbook. Breslow would have to know that ahead of time though.
  5. We hope he's moved on from that thinking.
  6. Is that why they fired Bloom?
  7. I think I remember that being out during the season?
  8. SlateN. SoxProspects don't like putting relievers higher than 20. Maybe they put Fitts 11th? Somewhere 11-15 IMO.
  9. This was said before he was fired as well. You can complain about hit pieces all you want, but his was well deserved. The only thing we didn't learn about until after the firing was the Sale deal that fell through.
  10. It just takes money. If a CBO is scared of Boras, they need to find a new line of work.
  11. If they get the guys they want, I'm fine with it even if they overpay like they did with Masa.
  12. Burnes and Imanaga? Trade for Bichette to play 2B?
  13. Nola was off the table even before the offseason started. DD was going to re-sign him no matter what. Gray probably wasn't a high target for the Sox and I'm fine with it. ERod provides innings, but he isn't going to lead you to the promised land. It really is Yamamoto or bust. Snell can't consistently give you innings. Monty is more often than not a #2, but better than ERod. Breslow could still go to the trade market.
  14. But yes, I agree with the nervousness..........
  15. It's a different FO this year. We don't have Desperate Dave swinging his nuts all over the Winter Meetings like he used to do.
  16. It's December 7th. Only 12 players have signed deals for over 10M a year. There should be about 25-30 more of those deals to go and players that the Sox will actually want. Aside from Nola and Gray, nobody interesting has signed.
  17. @tylermilliken_ . @jonmorosi continues to connect the Red Sox to Yoshinobu Yamamoto this morning. “The Red Sox would love to get him.” Still, that dinner between Yamamoto and Steve Cohen is terrifying.
  18. Tortured every offseason.
  19. Yamamoto said he's waiting until after Ohtani signs.
  20. With the younger CBO/GM's who are texting and on their phones all the time, I think it's less of a big deal to be in the same room at once. Not sure if there's a way to juice up the offseason or if it even needs to happen.
  21. Yankees offseasons have felt like an afterthought recently. Interesting to see them go big again.
  22. He wasn't getting Murphy in the JD or Sale deals though. He still could have moved those guys no problem.
  23. He did hold out of a season for family issues. We don't know the full picture so I'm not going to judge.
  24. Last year had the Xander surprise and some other activity, but recently it's been a notinburger.
  25. I've seen other lists where the Sox were listed. I'm going to let this offseason shakeout before I judge Breslow harshly.
