  1. Ignoring the alcohol issues, does anyone think he's a good pitcher?
  2. BTV accepts: Mookie for Mayer Duran Winckowski FULL THROTTLE
  3. @mike_petriello Dave Roberts just said on MLB Network that Mookie Betts will be "the everyday second baseman." Red Sox need a RHB at 2B too! FULL THROTTLE!
  4. To be fair, AI wrote that SI article...
  5. Bauer, Clevinger, German... Maybe Urbina can be part a MiLB pitching coordinator. BUY LOW!
  6. @mikedeportes Sources: Boston, Toronto, Houston and a mysterious team are very interested in the services of right-handed pitcher Domingo Germán. FULL THROTTLE
  7. I get vertigo, so I need to be heavily medicated for the Red Sox. Maybe that's one of my issues?
  8. Per your post, you were happier back when they weren't winning championships. Therefore, you'd still be happier if they had never won in comparison to how you feel during the recent rollercoaster. If that's not true, then you should be happier with the recent rollercoaster than when they were always coming up short because of some made up curse.
  9. DD should have been given the opportunity to clean up the mess. Maybe he didn't want to work under the constraints Henry listed and it was more mutual than we first believed?
  10. Why? Just because you take a pick doesn't mean you're married to the guy for 162 games. You can always return them. Guys get injured, especially Mata. Also, they probably want to SEE Mata in ST. Just making a pick in Rule 5 costs virtually nothing. They have open 40 man spots to do so. They also have open AA and AAA spots for the MiLB portion if the Cubs, Giants, Twins or Other left guys available that Breslow/Bailey/Willard/et al like.
  11. @byJulianMack The Red Sox have hired Justin Willard as their director of pitching according to multiple sources. Willard recently served as pitching coordinator for the Twins.
  12. They are closer to a postseason birth! But still far away from a WS title. How far? It depends on PLAYER DEVELOPMENT and PLAYER ACQUISITION.
  13. How are we defining 3rd richest?
  14. I think most people are unhappy about the below .500 seasons. The argument seems to be that some people aren't unhappy enough.
  15. It keeps people punchy for sure.
  16. Yeah, it's not the 9 last place finishes and 1 championship scenario that moon has presented.
  17. But that's the HOPE that 5GG was talking about. It was easier for them to HOPE prior to the current cycle. Some of us still have HOPE now.
  18. I have a regulation sized PawSox bat that I got signed on the field by both players at one of their events.
  19. I try not get dragged into that morass of negativity. I don't see the harm in conversing and disagreeing. Sometimes there are things that are provably wrong like "I saw Valdez play SS and he looked good" which was virtually impossible.
  20. I agree. I was just looking at how Senga adjusted and projected there. The same way Suzuki and Matsui's rookie OPS's look a lot like Masa's rookie season. Both of those guys bounced back in year 2. We'll see if Masa can as well.
  21. I'm so glad the auditors will be out here bothering me on Wednesday interrupting me watching the draft. Hmph...
  22. Does any opinion ever change on here?
  23. I still have a Mo Vaugh/Scott Cooper signed bat in my closet. Teams and players from when you are younger play such a big role in your perspective. Unfortunately, I wasn't around for the '67 or '75 years. I think a large reason I pay attention to prospects is because I spent a lot of my summer nights at McCoy with my parents over the years than I ever did at Fenway when I was an adult and I lived less than 2 miles from Fenway for about 6 years.
  24. Red Sox regular season winning % by period 67-03: 53.8%, 0 championships 04-23: 54.5%, 4 championships
  25. 1. Those teams are your favorite because you were YOUNGER. Just like how I'm fond of the '86 team. 2. Nobody is making excuses for the bad teams and saying that it's acceptable. They fired the CBO. It's time for them to field a competitive team again and stop wasting time.
