  1. The guy who almost ran Theo out of town. Sox definitely need a voice like Larry these days though.
  2. IDK, they strive to be Atlanta who is currently 6th in payroll with all their extensions. Boston is currently 11th, but remains closer to the A's than they are to the Yankees or Mets.
  3. LeMahieu (not on the IL long!) has a fractured foot and is hopeful to be back sometime in April. Maybe? It's the Yankees so who knows! At least the guy filling in for him is playing well. Two more years of this nonsense with DJ though, the most overrated Yankee of recent history.
  4. It's not "low-budget" they are mid. They are Colorado Rockies East. They'll spend on a few players here and there, but cheapen out elsewhere. The days of the Sox being at the top of the payroll mountain are long gone.
  5. I'll take whatever wins I can get after an offseason of nothingburger signings and getting kicked in the nuts by ownership.
  6. If they had a better option for 5th starter, I'd still advocate for it. The A's lineup is really brutal.
  7. Maldonado was -17 in framing runs last year, worst in MLB. He SUCKED.
  8. Romy is a perfectly dandy AAAA player.
  9. It's not a surprise that as the whole pitching development was reworked, Breslow brought in a ton of new Catchers. Catchers 3-6 on the depth chart were not in the system last season.
  10. Last year, McGuire was a +1 in framing while Wong was a -4. He was also a +2 in blocking and Wong was a -7 in. Wong is much better at controlling the running game.
  11. Maybe a better coaching staff can get more out of them?
  12. Houck did not throw double digit K's in a start last season. He only had 2 starts where he didn't walk anyone. This would have been his best start last season. According to Gamescore, these starts would have been Kutter, Whitlock and Pivetta's 3rd best start from 2023. They've looked good first time through. The interview prior to last night's game with Andrew Bailey talked a bit about the importance of first pitch strikes and limiting walks.
  13. McGuire has 3 starts. Wong has 2. For the 5th game of the year, it’s a 50/50 split.
  14. 1. It’s early. 2. He was playing over his head last year.
  15. Crawford has looked good. Reyes should’ve eaten that ball in the 1st.
  16. Rafaela has been great so far.
  17. When Abreu is 5th, it’s a light lineup.
  18. Dalbec has a higher ceiling
  19. Sox not being patient. SEA shifted right where ball is hit.
  20. If Reyes is “0 for” just have Dalbec be the 3b when Devers is out.
