  1. I think teams may have their own systems and not rely on FanGraphs or Bref for the calculation of WAR. That could be the issue the Sox are running into with their internal models.
  2. Do you get "June Gloom" down by Riverside or is that just reserved for LA?
  3. The defense has been fine? -2 DRS at SS -1 OAA at SS
  4. To think that the Sox would put up Garrett Crochet in a trade and they'd get the same value as a trade with Duran is laughable. Who would the Sox get a bigger offer for: Roman or Suarez? I think it'd be Roman TBH. That Romy has the same value as Chapman PLUS Contreras??? Crazy. If that's the case, I'm fielding calls on Romy all day!!!
  5. C'mon, 1967 is the first year of the modern Boston Red Sox. It's when they finally turned the page. I guess they had a good 50 year run or so. I really don't believe anything prior to '67 matters. The red seat, Pesky's dumb retired jersey. I'd get rid of all of it.
  6. Yes, I'd trade Mayer, but I think his stock has to be lower than ever.
  7. The FO was heavily promoting those kids as the Big Three and was really relying on them to lead the Sox into the future. It hasn't worked out so far. People can be upset with fans that follow prospects, but ownership put all their chips on the table for these guys.
  8. I was up for trading Mayer in prior offseasons due to his injury history. He's been healthy this year, but his bat just hasn't developed the way we had hoped.
  9. West Coast swing for the 2026 Sox. Only sickos are staying up for this.
  10. Harrison for Devers wasn't enough. Durbin for Harrison wasn't enough. Funny how both things can be true!
  11. There are enough stuffies in my kids' rooms that I can borrow.
  12. Throw '28 in there too probably. Where's the hitting coming from?
  13. Bello back at it tonight. Lehigh is a pretty inept hitting team (2nd to last in OPS) so it should be easy work for him.
  14. It rots from the head down. Henry has built this in his image.
  15. I'm still jonesing for the next Rule 5 draft, so don't ask for my input!
  16. The best players can get more from being drafted and the NIL's are often used towards college tuition since college baseball rosters average less than 12 scholarships per team. It's not the windfall you are making it out to be right now. Maybe it changes at some point. There are some outliers, but for the most part, players are going to get more by going pro.
  17. I think he'll be very good for 2027. If the Sox think they are going to be competitive, they should keep him. If they are going to punt or receive an offer than barrels them over, they should trade him.
  18. It was to make the draft more exciting and less about tanking.
  19. Yes, guys like him with that much control aren't typically moved at the deadline. Contenders would certainly be interested, but even sellers don't usually give them up because of the control.
  20. The worry is that you are trading a guy with 95th percentile bat speed and on pace for 30+ HRs while the team is already last in runs. Get rid of that guy and you're guaranteeing that this franchise has turned back the clock 100 years.
