  1. I didn't hear about the comp pick. Crazy.
  2. The problem with Hamilton as a UTIL is that he's only good at 2b. They tried him in the OF and it wasn't good. He never looks great at SS when he's over there.
  3. Not enough 2b/3b to too many...
  4. IFers on 40 Man Rosters AL 1st Place: Red Sox 13 2nd Place (tie): Angels/Guardians 9 4th Place: a bunch of teams 8
  5. IFers on 40 man Rosters AL East Rays 7 Jays 6 Yankees 8 O's 8 Red Sox 13 😎
  6. I believe so as well. Red Sox have 13 IFers on the roster right now: KC Casas TCC Contreras Durbin Eato Gasper Romy Mayer Monasterio Seigler Sogard Story
  7. Yeah, that was before they swapped two pitchers for two IFers on the 40 man. Probably need to add some relievers somehow.
  8. I think after the meeting JH said that he would eat money in a trade after the meeting, that's how bad it went. IMO, a large part of moving on from Devers can still be about not being comfortable with that contract on the books. They probably were going to move on from him at some point, that discussion just moved up the timetable.
  9. Anthony Seigler's prospect savant page (C, 1b, 2b) Maybe good depth in WOO?
  10. Increase the bb rate. Pop a few more dingers over the Monster. If he keeps the same defense and running metrics, he'll do just fine.
  11. Money has always been an issue since 2019. We can't ignore those constraints. They aren't a top 5 spender any longer.
  12. I only saw him the 3 games they played against the Sox. Have no clue where they'll play him. Cora will figure it out soon enough.
  13. I think that value for Harrison is too low TBH.
  14. Shaw doesn't have the hitting approach, but has a higher ceiling if he can get there. Was going to cost A LOT more to obtain.
  15. You can only make trades if the other teams are willing. That cost was very fair. The Marte cost was pretty high for a guy that is going to decline fast and move off 2b in a few years. HOU doesn't really need Paredes and was still trying to trade for Abreu, but the Sox were unwilling to move him. Abreu is probably the better player with more control. CHC trade seems like wishful thinking. Hoerner was going to cost too much for a one year guy who is a league average hitter. Matt Shaw is going to replace Hoerner next season at 2b. What's the play there? Trade Shaw and you don't have a 2b after this season. Trade Hoerner and you are taking a step back in a year you are trying to compete.
  16. Campbell is an OFer going forward. Or trade bait if he can recoup value. I think he's another case where internally he's valued higher than externally right now.
  17. They would have traded him anyway at some point. Breslow didn't like that contract based on the internal models. JH had buyer's remorse after the ink dried.
  18. This MIL-BOS trade works for me. No complaints.
  19. Why even include prospects in the Masa deal? Just eat 80% of the contract and move on from him. If Duran is the DH for the next 2 seasons, it's the same length as Masa's contract anyway.
  20. Sox have depth at SP. This trade is a slam dunk for both sides.
  21. However, Durbin is really good at a couple of important things. The first is bunting... This is not a Red Sox trait. I would lose my mind in a good way though.
  22. Monasterio is a super utility guy. Has 3 options still. Ridiculous 27.7 pull air rate last season.
  23. Romy can platoon IF/OF. There will be injuries.
  24. I'd say they're holding onto him to get through ST, but he's heading off to the WBC.
