  1. Scott and Perez are both listed on the the WOO roster. https://www.milb.com/worcester/roster The roster also lists Joely Rodriguez FWIW.
  2. Cotillo and Ed Hand are the only ones who have noted the Perez or Scott situation on Twitter. Scott has been playing most of ST, but maybe he got injured at some point? I know he played in the game I saw down in Jupiter. SoxProspects projected Scott to start in POR if that means anything.
  3. @ChrisCotillo Another Red Sox note: Roberto Pérez is starting the season in extended spring training as he continues to ramp up baseball activities. Not in Worcester to start.
  4. IDK? I don't know any other reason they aren't on the roster unless there have been some changes. Perez could be a quick 40 man add in case of injury. Scott????
  5. Romero is Jed Lowrie with the injury dial turned all the way up.
  6. Mata may come off the IL, but still is able to rehab in AAA for a period of time I believe... Romero seems to have been an amazing pick.
  7. Franchy and Winckowski were already mentioned in a post above so I didn't include them.
  8. Wow. Notin's original point was that he sucked because he missed ST. I said he sucked because of injury. We haven't convinced each other. If he's great this year, I'll say it's because he's healthy and notin will say it's because he had a Spring Training. If he sucks this year, I'll say it's because there's another underlying injury we don't know about and notin will say that Spring Training needs to be extended until May 1.
  9. I'm hopeful for this year, but it's far from a guarantee.
  10. @pgammo Sportico Top 5 MLB Franchise Values:Yankees $7.93B, Dodgers $6.3B, Red Sox $5.96B, Cubs $5.31B, Giants $4.2B Up 9% from last year. It's why winning doesn't really matter to Henry. The value of the Sox won't tank unless he actively pours gasoline on the franchise. For now, being an absentee owner and cutting payroll isn't hurting its value.
  11. @EdHand89 One interesting note from WooSox media day- neither Stephen Scott or Roberto Perez are listed on the opening day roster. Travelling with BOS just in case?
  12. Story had a 709 OPS his last 57 games of 2022 (post May 27).
  13. Benintendi had a lot of promise, but it all kind of went away after 2018. He's a bad defender with no power. It's not really the same archetype. Also, they got Freddy Valdez (released), Luis De La Rosa (released) and Grant Gambrell!
  14. He "could be" but they are counting on him to be.
  15. He had a bad April for sure, but he bounced back in May only to suck again in June and July. I don't think that was due to missing Spring Training. More likely due to the underlying injury issues.
  16. He could be and the team is counting on it for some reason. It's more likely he's not though. Most players take a little time to develop, even in the majors. Yes, Anthony grew 2"s over the offseason and put on weight. He's gained bat speed and is hitting moonshots. That doesn't mean he's a lock to be a star player. He still has platoon splits. He only played 10 games at AA. People need to pump the brakes a little. It's ok to be excited, but to expect him to be great right away.
  17. Valdez can only "play" one position. Reyes can back up the entire IF and OF if necessary. I think Reyes (or comparable) is more important to this team than Valdez. Valdez is a platoon DH at best.
  18. He ended 2021 in COL with the arm injury that he got modified TJS for. Black added that there was little to report in terms of Story’s status, but “tightness is still apparent in the forearm and around the elbow."
  19. They haven't announced what the backup plan is, but I'm worried they've put too much onto these young players. We can't expect Anthony to mash from day one. We can't expect Mayer to not struggle here and there. We can't expect Teel to show up on 4/1/25 and be a 30 year old Jason Varitek.
  20. If you look at it as a % of CBT, the highest spending teams would be: 1. 2018 2. 2019 3. 2004 4. 2016 5. 2007
  21. The Sox did win the Mayor's Cup!
  22. I just don't like the cut of Burnes' jib. He's a good pitcher, but I don't think I was ever ALL IN on trading for him.
  23. No. Wheeler's next best season was only 1.3 fWAR less. Burnes' was almost 3!
  24. Carrabis said that his contacts told him two different messages. One said there was a standing offer. The other said the other person was wrong and there was no standing offer. Maybe one was made and pulled at some point?
  25. Have you seen the cost of translators lately?
