  1. Maldonado was -17 in framing runs last year, worst in MLB. He SUCKED.
  2. Romy is a perfectly dandy AAAA player.
  3. It's not a surprise that as the whole pitching development was reworked, Breslow brought in a ton of new Catchers. Catchers 3-6 on the depth chart were not in the system last season.
  4. Last year, McGuire was a +1 in framing while Wong was a -4. He was also a +2 in blocking and Wong was a -7 in. Wong is much better at controlling the running game.
  5. Maybe a better coaching staff can get more out of them?
  6. Houck did not throw double digit K's in a start last season. He only had 2 starts where he didn't walk anyone. This would have been his best start last season. According to Gamescore, these starts would have been Kutter, Whitlock and Pivetta's 3rd best start from 2023. They've looked good first time through. The interview prior to last night's game with Andrew Bailey talked a bit about the importance of first pitch strikes and limiting walks.
  7. McGuire has 3 starts. Wong has 2. For the 5th game of the year, it’s a 50/50 split.
  8. 1. It’s early. 2. He was playing over his head last year.
  9. Crawford has looked good. Reyes should’ve eaten that ball in the 1st.
  10. Rafaela has been great so far.
  11. When Abreu is 5th, it’s a light lineup.
  12. Dalbec has a higher ceiling
  13. Sox not being patient. SEA shifted right where ball is hit.
  14. If Reyes is “0 for” just have Dalbec be the 3b when Devers is out.
  15. Dalbec has a nice arm over there.
  16. Last post was Nov ‘22.
  17. Ump owed Nick that one.
