  1. Coffey, Campbell, Mayer, Teel and Anthony have all raked since May 1. https://x.com/redsoxstats/status/1803860283607167209 @redsoxstats Mayer is having one of those mini bursts that you often see leading into a promotion. 11 for 22 with 4 doubles in his last 5 games.
  2. Hamilton's best position is probably DH anyway.
  3. moon said there was no way to fit Yoshida in a lineup. I put the lineups how Cora might construct them. moon got mad and said "why bench Yoshida in favor of Hamilton?"
  4. You can find AB's for him, but he'll slow down. Bench him when he cools off.
  5. 3. Dumping Yoshida would greatly hurt any chance of the Sox acquiring a Japanese player in the next few years.
  6. I enjoy it when he plays well. I close my eyes or at least flinch when the ball heads his way. His bat has looked good in this short timeframe, but there's no way in hell it holds up. All of his underlying metrics are bad except for chase rate.
  7. We've tried releasing moon, but he keeps logging in every day.
  8. No, sir. I may imbibe some bourbon, but it will not be a shot.
  9. Classic wankster posting.
  10. Better a prankster than a wankster.
  11. The only two teams that will not do a City Connect jersey: Yankees and Athletics.
  12. Pearl necklaces are right out! "Mattingly! I thought I told you to trim those sideburns!"
  13. No HR's this week for Cutter, but he's still gone 4-8. Hot bat!
  14. It's a week. Welcome to Earth. Enjoy our hot dogs. Have a beer. This is baseball.
  15. No, I think they'll be 38-49.
  16. No, because I don't believe that theory has much validity. Cora seems to be really good at getting a lot out of some of these younger players.
  17. 2024 Sox Amount of times outscored opponents by 8 or more runs: 7 (largest amount 17) Amount of times outscored by opponents by 8 or more runs: 1 (largest amount 8) SKEWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Likely they start the season with a 6 man rotation IMO. Whitlock was mowing down hitters in the Spring. Hard to move that to the pen.
  19. Because the Red Sox have a decent pitching staff, it's less likely that they will be blown out than they will blow out an opponent. Therefore, they will thumb their noses at Pythogoras and still be a .500 team.
  20. Hamilton has a 511 OPS the past week. I think he's starting to cool down as expected. I think his ceiling is lower than Yoshida's.
  21. VS RHP Wong Casas Valdez Rafaela Devers Abreu Duran Refsnyder Yoshida VS LHP Wong Casas Romy Hamilton Devers O'Neilll Rafaela Duran Refsnyder
  22. Hamilton and Valdez are making up for it in the short term.
  23. Next year? Probably. I have higher hopes going forward especially if the OF is solidified and Mayer can come up and fill in one of the MIF holes. I believe they still need a top of the rotation guy. I haven't seen Houck do it for a full season so I'm not a believer yet.
  24. That's what medicore .500 baseball clubs do.
  25. @SoxNotes MLB’s best records since May 19: 1. Orioles 20-10, .667 2. Yankees 19-10, .655 3. Guardians 16-9, .640 4. Mariners 19-11, .633 5. RED SOX 18-11, .621 In that time, the Sox lead MLB in AVG (.273) and OBP (.342) and rank 2nd in runs per game (5.3), OPS (.786), and steals (41).
