  1. But that's apparently not the point of this very clear thread which is only to complain about John Henry!
  2. @BOSSportsGordo Red Sox minor league infielder Christian Koss has been traded to the Giants, per @redsoxstats. This comes the day after the team and C Stephen Scott mutually parted ways. Lots of depth in this farm system leading to decisions. The last remnants of the Meatball Gang is gone.
  3. Uwasawa is really only here for extreme emergency only. Maybe he can figure it out, but has looked dreadful so far. Gambrell could certainly do what the 2006 fill-ins did for a few weeks. Fitts needs to work on his secondary stuff before he's called up for anything more than a relief role. Not sure about Wikelman timetable. We've seen guys like Abe Alvarez make a quick jump though.
  4. I answered what I could. I think the team will be fun to watch. I'm just not excited for this first stretch because of the reasons I stated.
  5. So Chaim Bloom did the best job he could reasonably do then?
  6. Christian Koss has been dealt to the Giants. He hit .237/.285/.351/.636 with a homer in 34 games at AAA last season. Frank German has been released after returning to the organization. He never made it to big league camp this spring.
  7. No college hockey down here and I find college baseball to be insufferable. All I got is college football and MLB. :/
  8. In terms of excitement for Opening Day, I'm pretty low. 1. West Coast swing causing late start times 2. Boring offseason 3. Potential 3rd straight last DAMN place finish 4. Best prospects won't be here until next season This has the makings of a very forgettable year.
  9. Why bother with the C's and Bruins? C's will lose in the finals and Bruins won't make it out of the first round.
  10. I'll put the game on, but likely won't finish it. I have no interest in March Madness.
  11. Craig Breslow= Chaim Bloom pt 2. This board spent years complaining about how Bloom was horrible for this franchise and the reason the Sox sucked. There was a CABAL of posters that supported the CBO because they were PAID BY THE FO but were routinely berated by the haters. But I'm supposed to see this post as only being critical of John Henry?
  12. My guess is they'll grab whatever guys run through the waiver wire if they just need innings and are placed in the standings where we expect them to be.
  13. Too bad for Walter. When I saw him this Spring, his stuff was down. His numbers looked ok, but he'd get tee'd off on by MLB regulars IMO.
  14. If he sucks here and gets dropped, I can't worry about what happens after.
  15. Naoyuki Uwasawa struck out Rafael Devers earlier this spring. Overall line: 9.2 IP, 14 ER, 15 Hits, 9 Ks, and 8 BBs.
  16. “Guys, we’re totally going to wine and dine Soto until you all get blue balls and then not give him an offer at all.”
  17. Great thread. A lot of effort put in here.
  18. The guy they traded for: John Cruz is the only player that Fangraphs has tracked (at least since 2006) to have been younger than 18 and have a .900+ OPS in over 200 plate appearances at the complex Obviously he's super young and a lot can happen, but his FCL performance was literally unheard of John Cruz, who is everyone's favorite breakout prospect, is heading to Miami. 18 year old with projection, hit 10 HR in 48 CPX games last year. Made good in-zone contact(83%) and had a 101 90th percentile EV which is solid for his age. John Cruz is already a Top 200 prospect for me and realistically could be Top 50 overall by the end of 2024.
  19. Lowrie didn’t have his MLb debut until 24. Romero has time if his skeleton doesn’t hop out of his mouth this Halloween.
  20. Double yup.
  21. That’s what I remember too. Garbage.
  22. He was also pretty awful in ST from what I remember. AAA depth at best.
  23. Wooooooooooowwwwwwwie!
  24. @SPChrisHatfield Just learned that Noah Song, who went on the 60-day IL this morning, needs Tommy John surgery. More adversity for right-hander, who after his 2019 debut had a multi-year absence due to his military commitment, followed by a roller-coaster 2023 with the Phillies as a Rule 5 pick.
